Originally by: Imperator Jora'h Today we have 0.0 space where they really need not concern themselves with anything but their own little corner. We have Low Sec which is largely empty except for roving bands of pirates with little to do. And we have Empire huggers who likewise see no need for the rest of the Universe and couldn't care less about it. Heck, the vast majority of Empire huggers live in Caldari space and couldn't care less or see a reason for any of the other three Empires.
Making EVE a more dynamic place to live is a good thing. I see vast untapped potential in EVE which is already an amazing game. If that screws up your mining simulator I won't feel overly bad about that but frankly what I am suggesting does not even screw that up. YOU CAN STAY IN EMPIRE!! No one is making you go anywhere. You lose little if anything. Lose Isogen? Do a spreadsheet...you are better off mining Scord anyway.
I am trying to give builders a way to make their profession more interesting and deep (build more stuff, expanded markets).
I am trying to get traders more to do. With a wider open Empire there is cause to trot stuff hither and yon rather than to Jita.
I am trying to get miners back into their profession rather than finding it more profitable to mission and buy mins or worse farm Drones.
I am trying to balance in the PvP aspect of the game in low sec. Like it or not that is a part of the game and it fuels everything else (why build mods and ships and mine for the mats if no one ever needs a replacement?). Low sec repopulated would bring back what most PvPers describe as the most fun PvP there is in EVE (small gang battles).
Opening up EVE overall is a good thing and it is not being done by "making" anyone do anything. Why you think making EVE a more dynamic place where all regions need something from the others and poeple start zooming all over rather than live in Caldari space or their 0.0 hole is a bad thing is beyond me.
I agree 100%. I believe that EVE is at core a pvp game (as a pvper) but I don't want to ruin the fun of others, and i'm willing to compromise. However pvp is in a sad state at the moment because 0.0 is (for the most part) blob-or-die and lowsec is empty and worthless. Fixing lowsec would give small gang and solo PvPers a place to go, and bring back the days of true piracy. Also, make it easier to gain sec ffs, its a huge putoff.
However I only have so much patience and imo EVE's pvp is almost not worth bothering with atm, and it probably wouldnt be if not for EVE's great community/my great corp. That said, if EVE doesn't improve i'm off to a true PvP based MMO like Huxley when it comes out.
