I know, I know. When you get targetted ina Recon ship, you are already dead. But sometines you have to withstand some fire.
So how would you use 3 available slots (one is for Damage mod) to tank the Arazu? Resistance or plate? Or both?
Come on you Recon pilots. Uncloak for a second and enlighten us!

Specifically tanking an Arazu?
No brainer, Kin+Therm active hardeners. Most Arazu pilots sport 250MM Rails.
But uh, mind if I ask why? The odds of you finding a lone Arazu to tank specifically against are uhm... - "The Mains Created the alts They rebelled They look...and feel...human Some are programmed to think they are human There are many alts. And they have a plan." - Forumstar Galactica |

Looks like it's another day for the 'special' kids.
To answer the question, if the slots are low slots then I would go with a plate, an EANMII and a DCII. No point fitting a rep because you won't have time to use it.

800mm rolled tungsten and two of the following depending on who you're after and your personal choice.
eanm II x2 eanm II, DCU II exp hardner II, eanm or DCU
and avoid heavy drone ships unless help is on the way :)

Low slots for the Arazu can go like this:
Med Repper II, Explosive II, EANMII, DCU II
with rigs:
Explosive rig then Med Repper II, EANM II, DCUII, 800 tungsten
As soon as you even smell a target lock engage the repper and start looking for the way home. By the time you've managed 1 cycle on the repp and are coming into structure ( ), you may just be able to warp out and cloak. Maybe......

No repper sound logical. I need the tank only to survive some FoF missiles or a drone or two coming my way, before I warp away. My first idea was:
- 800mm rolled Tungsten - EANM II - DCU II

The whole argument supplied here screams out for a plate instead of a repper - if you don't think you'll get more than one cycle of a rep which does ~500/cycle, then a plate that gives you ~2100 armour is more than 4 times as effective...

Don't even try to tank it on Armor.
Slap on a LSE II and a DCU for tank only. Remaining Low-Slots are used for Speed.
I fit:
High: COCD II, 3x 250mm T2 Med: 10MN AB II, LSE II, F-90 SensorBooster, 2x Phased Muon, WarpDisruptor II Low: MagStab II, DCU II, LH Overdrive, LH Nanofiber Drones: 8x Hobgoblin II
Enough Hitpoints, to last for a few... .

I'd like to humbly request that none of you charlatans ever buy an arazu. It'd be a waste.
To the OP : when you have 4 slots for a tank, insisting that one of them be surrendered for a damage mod is insane. Also, FOFs only hit out to lock range, so if FOFs can hit you so can normal missiles.
If you're just tanking drones then fitting for speed along with a single med rep and DC should be all you need. _____________________________________________

I had two of these suckers jump my absolution along with a sabre.
I thought yeah I can tank these guys...
Activated ONE armour repper... they got me down to 50% armour and i thought Hmmmmm better activate 2nd armour repper. and by the time it kicked in properly I was at 30% armour. I slowly climbed back to 100% armour much to thier dismay. and after 15 mins of being locked down and webbed. Help finally arrived. and they fled. I knew in the end one of us would get help first. Was a good fight too.
