Greetings,
I have recently found myself addicted to what may be the simplest yet most fun rts DEFCON. I was just pondering if anyone else played this game and may at some point in time be up for some thermal nuckler action. If so please post here or shoot me a e-mail in eve. I figure this is a good way to kill some extended down times though I wont be home till later today.

I played the demo. Was pretty addictive. Reminded me of Dr. Strangelove and other such Cold War classics

Who the **** cares when it came out, it could have been released 10 years ago, the point of my post was to see who else played it, not discuss when it came out or when it went out of style. It was to see it anyone enjoyed playing it or enjoyed talking about it.
So next time you have absolutly nothing to contribute to something, do all of us a favor and shut off you pc and go do something unproductive else where.

Love that game and use to play it a lot. However the battles would take a long time and nearer the end there were a lot of people using dodgy tactics like multiple clients so they could join the enemy alliance and get silo information.
But I think an Eve fanbase in Defcon would be cool its a very fun game and easy to pick up and play (although hard to master) and its hilarious with the backstabbing etc that can go on in a game.

I've ony beaten the AI once, but then again in a global thermonuclear war I guess no one truly "wins".

Think Ive played the AI once, but managed to beat it.. he ran out of nukes :P and I managed to sc*****a "win" thanks to my subs and bombers.
Had some amazing fights versus some random players online. Oh the backstabbing.. "ok we'll take this guy out next.. HEY YOUR LAUNCHING ON ME YOU F*****!!"

wow man this is one crazy game. i played online and was kicking ass up until the victory timer started going then dude decides to show me where the rest of his submarines were... right off my shores. Mexico City and Lima now lay in ashes.  was a good game though. 45 to 38 in his favor

It's blood freezing , maddening even in heated games... strongest lasting impression since System Shock 2.
I like how human players tend to have a more brutish behavior than AI , often more strategically sound. Very tense game...
