Honestly, I don't see why people are talking about webs at all, if the sabre pilot gets webbed by an ishkur he should never ever fly a sabre again.
Unless the ishkur is fitting faction web... However, 80m+ mods on an assault frigate?

This is it pretty much.
Those of you who are saying "use artys and kill the drones" aren't thinking very hard. Sure, maybe you can pop light drones with artys in a volley when they are sitting at your optimal, but not when they're orbiting around you. If you start heading away from the Ishkur to maintain distance from the drones to pop them, you're going to get right out of web/scram range pretty quick and he can get away.
So you're either going to have to pop the Ishkur before his drones pop you, or let him get away. Assuming both pilots are smart, an artillery Sabre is only going to win if his guns pop the Ishkur before the Ishkur's drones pop the Sabre. In that case, it's all fitting and skill dependant.
A Sabre using autocannons, on the other hand... kill the drones if you want, or mow into the Ishkur.

Btw nothing wrong in getting webbed, anything frigatesized getting close to hail sabre with 200mm and 1 gyro is a short work, even if it webs/nos/prey/whatever...

i been out of eve awhile and lost my sabre to a curse in 0.0.
so i just got a new 1 yesterday and well while waiting for a carrier jump from emp decided to try fit it with arti's.
having messed about in all t2 frigs on test server and getting beat by this guy in a t2 fitted arti thrasher i was wondering how much better a sabre is.
thanks to the tracking bonus even though a crow is faster than me i still can hit it orbiting at 20km
for close range i.e taranis i switch to quake 3 shots i took out it's shield.(this was testing while waiting for a pilot in gang to catch up)
i then asked a m8 to get his flycatcher out for a 1v1
knowing from flying a crow and doing a crow vs crow the missiles don't tend to hit.
so warped in at 0km from him quake ammo loaded and dual webs away. my rof and dps wer far quicker than his missiles and took him to struct first though it was a close fight as i was web'd but not dual web'd.
here's my setup:
0.0 setup:
5x 250mm arti's t2 1x proto cloak 1x dictor launcher
1x mwd t2 2x web t2 1x warp dis t2
1x overdrive t2 1x co pro t2
setup i used while testing arti's:
6x 250 arti t2 1x cloak
1x mwd t2 2x web t2 1x warp dis t2
1x overdrive t2 1x pdu t2
ammo: quake/ tremor

Sweet Jesus, finally. I'm completely baffled by all the people saying "stay out of web range and pop his drones" -- it's a frigate, FFS. You are in a 7-turret destroyer-class ship that was designed to melt frigates, up against an armor tanking AF whose weakest resist is to your main damage type. Why all the confusion?

Fitting is important in this face off. A Sabre with a DCU II almost always prevails. Web the ishkur and melt him with your barrage ammo.

Who has more chances of winning in 1v1 combat?
Ishkur jumps into gate and sees a bubble and a lone sabre. What should it do?
- run to gate?
- run from gate?
- fight?
Well if the sabre has bubbled the gate run back to the gate and jump or try and get away.
If you fight the Sabre unless he/she sucks they will be picking up your drones
