I want to fit the above to my Velator ship, but I need a Launcher. I have looked in the market, but none of them mean anything to me. I am new to all this so forgive my obvious stupidity.

Ultraviolet S is a Frequency Crystal. Frequency crystals are used as ammo in energy turrets. In this case small energy turrets (denoted by the S after Ultraviolet)
If I recall correctly civilian weapons cannot be loaded with any ammo, they fire without it. You will need to upgrade to a basic energy turret or tech I energy turret to load the crystal in it. It should also be noted that you only need to load in one crystal as it will not deplete when fired unlike other types of turret weapons.
I hope that is explains it well.

Also note that fitting energy turrets to gallente ships is generally a bad idea. Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Forum Moderator ([email protected]) |

Also, please note that your velator is as strong as a wet tissue paper.
Upgrade to a frigate. You should have enough cash after the tutorial to do that.
Also, since you mentioned Velator, your skills to use energy weapons should be zero. You are actually looking for "Charges" such as Antimatter s, or tungsten s to use in Railguns or Blasters as Gallente favor the Hybrid guns.

if you want to use energy weapons, I would suggest training up amarr ships, as they have the capacitor and bonuses to properly use the weapons.

Edited by: Daeva Vios on 25/05/2007 13:57:27 As a follow-up to the above poster, I would strongly recommend against training up another faction's ships in lieu of your own unless you have a very clear and concise picture of where you want your character to be one year from now and how you are going to get there. The reason for this is that you start off having SPs in your own faction's ships, weapons, and tank already, which for Gallente will be Gallente ships, hybrid turrets and drones, and engineering/mechanic skills.
The immediate boost to SPs gives you bonuses above being able to simply use the items in question, as the above poster said. Check out your ship's Description in the Show Info panel (remember: When you don't know what else to do, right click!) for the specific bonuses it gives. In nearly every case it is for that faction's favored weapon(s).
