Hello,
my frined Bob has a riddle for me and if i solve it, i may pick one of his 4 cards as a reward, each of them representing the bpc (one run, me0, pe0) of a mothership, a ace spade for the Wyvern, a king heart for the Hel, a queen pick for the Nyx and jack diamond for an Aeon.
As i'm a capitalistic pig, i'm planing to sell the prize right after i get it, so here is my question: which of the 4 bpcs would sell best ? With best i mean for best price and fastest.
I have no clue so far what people offer here most, heard the nyx is the most common mom but then there might be a lot of nyx bpos already in game so a nyx bpc would go for less than a wyvern bpc ?
Would be nice if someone knows the mothership-bpc-market-situation and is willing to share his knowledge

Do people actually buy ME0 mothership BPC's?

The Nyx is probably the most popular Mothership because of its good looks and damage bonus. I would say that second choice for a lot of people would be an Aeon for the sustainable tank and amazing resists. The Wyvern/Hel are ofcourse good ships but I wouldnt pick one if I had the chance. If I were you I would probably go for the Aeon since, like you say, there are a lot of Nyx BPOs/BPCs in circulation and the Aeon is considered by some to be the best Mothership so it would probably sell well.

According to inEVE.net's ship page, the spread of Mothership pilots is as follows :
Nyx (250) Aeon (172) Wyvern (148) Hel (68)
So while the numbers may not be an exact representation of pilots, the proportion split probably is.
Note : Sara Dawn is currently updating that page and the pilot count. It will take around 2h as it parses through 26,000 characters, around 300 ships and roughly 3 skills checked per ship.

Wouldn't all the people who have the capacity to build motherships already have BPOs, and little need for a BPC?

A corp which has for example a Nyx BPO might still be interested in a Hel BPC...
I'm pretty sure even an ME0 BPC will sell if the price is right.

The whole thing is just an elaborate setup to get force-fed information on the value of mothership BPC's from this forum, instead of the price check one where such questions belong. There are very few entities in Eve with all four mothership BPO's such that they could produce the BPC's as he describes, and NONE of them produce off of BPC's, as it's much faster to build off of the BPO (which is also why they produce in station systems, not in the middle of nowhere).

I was unaware it was faster to build off a BPO than it was to build of a BPC.
Edit : Ah, I see what you're getting at. The presumption is they build permanently off the BPO rather than copy it. Fair point.

I find it to be an interesting question that might be the base of a potential IPO, though the way it was posed here would make the pricecheck forum more suitable, yes.

I assume you mean it takes longer to make a BPC than to build the ship, right?
You seem to be missing (or maybe just trying to cover up) the point that a mothership BPC can be produced in safe space, in an high-sec POS lab for instance.

Ok thanks for the replys so far, some were quite helpful.
I hope i will be able to sell it to a corp that maybe already owns a ms bpo but this bpo might be in production and the corp might want to produce a second ms meanwhile.
But i guess i'll have to hurry up, as if the devs make true what they announced, that it will be possible to catch motherships/titans with bubbles, i guess the demand for them will decrease. I mean the best thing of that ms was that they could leave whenever in trouble ... or why to pay 10x the price of a carrier only for a littl improvement in all fields and a few more fighters ? Don't see a bright future for them if they can be caught with bubbles.
Anyways, sorry for posting here, forgot there is a pricecheck forum.

Aren't those numbers nearly completely useless? AFAIK, motherships only require carrier level 3 to fly, thus the numbers above rather represent carrier pilots.
Sure, you might argue that Thanatos pilots are more likely to fly a Nyx, or that Nyx pilots are also included in the number, but still... There are hardly 329 Nyx pilots (that actually have a Nyx) out there.

Well, that's exactly right. It's your potential market for sales. But those figures aren't an accurate count of pilots (as not everyone uploads to inEVE.net), however it was the proportion that was of interest to the OP.

Nyx would be the BPC to take. I see a lot of people ask for Nyx bpcs, whereas those Wyverns bpcs are offered a lot and noone wants them (same like aeon). If you want maximum isk the Nyx bpc is best.

Again, why would anyone produce off an ME0 bpc? You could save 2-3 billion or more ISK with ME1. Might as well just buy a researched BPO and then resell it when you're done.

Nowhere near that much, actually. ME1 shaves about 700 million isk off of the cost of an Aeon. Perhaps you're thinking of a Titan; getting ME1 on an Avatar BPO saves you about 2.5 billion. Then again, ME1 on an Avatar BPO also takes about four and a half months as opposed to the mere two months of research it takes to put a point of ME on a mommy print.
Your point about buying a researched BPO and then reselling it is a good one, though.

Lol it's funny to see noobs discuss what prices should be. Reminds me of that other thread where someone said that a certain officer ballistic control system, that had 5% more damage than it's t2 version (estamel bcu) should cost 5% more than the 2 version, otherwise it would be overpriced and theres no sense paying more .
Go to the sell forum. Look at the "WTS mothership bpc" threads. And see that people offer a buyout for a wyvern bpc me0 for 3 bil. Ooooh how can that bee ? Weee weee weeeeeeee. Abbabbalalalalallalalalalalalalaalallalallaaaaaaaaaa .... errr oh noes

I think PE may also be handy than ME itself in some cases. Sometimes isk does not matter as much as time to build. --

Asuming the comp-bpos are somewhat researched, you save about 600mio from me0-1 and about 200mio from me1-2. (edit: on a nyx)

My apologies if I was unclear. I was saying that ME1 on a mothership BPO does not save you anywhere near the 2-3 billion isk Shadarle was under the impression it did. I said--or, at least, INTENDED to say--nothing as to the final value of such a BPC or BPO.

I don't know what I was thinking saying 2-3 billion. I must have been thinking Titans. Obviously a Mothership that costs 15 million ISK couldn't have 2-3 billion shaved off, even with perfect ME.
I produce carriers and freighters... I understand capital production and I even looked into getting into Mothership production myself. So I really don't know what I was thinking.
In any case it seems that as soon as people start selling ME1 BPC's of motherships it will destroy the market for ME0 BPC's. Or at least reduce their price by 700 mill. It may be a worthwhile way to spend some of my money... buy a few mothership BPO's and research em. I'm shocked that a 16 bil bpo will yield 3 billion isk every 3 months... considering everyone can buy them (if you have that kind of money).
The prices on these bpc's is going to have to drop quite a bit as more and more corps/ipo's/people get in on the easy revenue.

Ye this is whats already happening and prices are about to go down. I was talking with a lot of people ingame and in blueprint-tradechannel as i was looking for an investment oppurtinity in a mothership BPO. Seems like a lot of people/corps recently bought ms BPOS, expecially Aeon BPOs, planing to make copys and i think that ME 0 copys won't be worth much in a few months. And if it's true that motherships will not be immune against tackeling in rev 2.0 anymore (warp disruptor bubbles), i think the demand will decrease so people will have a very hard time to sell those copies.
