Hi,
somehow I've to redefine my shortcuts each time EVE is restarted. Is this a known issue?
Thanx

Not as far as i heard of, best is you deinstall EvE and remove all the files related to eve and then reinstall... Its always easiest sollution in case of a problem. __________________________

Ya might wanna try this, and remove the user_xxxxx.dat file(s) from your eve/cache/settings dir. It solved my problem every time I encountered that Eve didn't save my new key binds. ______________ System spec's: Windows XP Professional AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz Memory: 1536MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0b NVIDIA GeForce4 FX 5950 Ultra 256.0 MB at 1280*1024 IIYAMA MA203DT Monitor Max Res: 1920,1440 SB Audigy Audio |

Sounds easy, but time consuming. Come on, it is a standard reply software developers come up with, and it just seems....easy...to you.
You really should be able to do better than that. Like the reply below yours DC.

Resuming my experience in this matter.
I installed reinstalled WIN2k a week ago or so. Immidiatly installing EVE, patching up to v.1360.
I got the problem of non-saving hotkeys immidiatly (actually I donŠt know if the hotkeys arenŠt saved, or if they are overwritten at game launch, but one of these seems to be the case).
Now I have just tried to remove the file suggested above.
Neither sollution seem to solve my problem, and I frankly donŠt believe that deinstalling should solve my problem, as I just installed the game.
Could this be a 1360 issue?
I am hoping for a quick solution to this problem, as my right hand is getting tired from all this mouse movement, and my left hand is angry because it isnŠt taking part of this game as much as it used to :p

It's a bug in v1360. Got the feeling that the executable is terminated before the settings are saved.

Sounds plaucible Barry. I recon that EVE shuts down way faster than ever now. When I click "quit", the desktop show up immidiatly.

An old workaround for this was ESC -> 'login screen' rather than 'quit'.

Athan,
nice suggestion... tried it but it didn't work. (reconnecting again keeps the bindings but quiting the exec from the login page failes to save the bindings).
Think I've located the bug. New shortcut are marked read-only like they belong to the default EVE settings. When the exec closes it doesn't need to save those assignments b'cause they are created each time EVE is started.

This worked for me
Set the shortcut as normal but instead of closing the window and going back to the game, just click log out.
Then from the login screen quit the game(click X on the login window). Now restart the game.

Could you check for me if your own shortcuts are marked read-only?

Barry -
I will check for you but I wont be able to until tomorrow evening. All I know is that my shortcuts NEVER saved until I accidentally clicked LOGOUT instead of CLOSE WINDOW on the keyboard shortcuts screen.
I will post the answer tomorrow anyway.

In answer to your question 'is it read-only' yes it is.

I must be cursed or something.. None of those workarounds work for me. The shortcuts get reset every time I start the EVE client.
This is really annoying.

I really don't know how the workaround could work for anyone. The problem is that new bindings are marked read only (like they are ingame bindings). Once you've set them you can't change them either.
When Eve is closed it will only save the bindings that are made by the user and not the read only ones.
This bug is getting annoying. Just show me the code CCP and I'll fix it. :)
