Post em! I know there are a lot of both. Please try and keep the discussion to interface elements and let's see what kind of list we get. I'll start.
Gripes: -You can't set a station as a destination. -You can't set ABs/MWDs to activate automatically during auto-pilot, non-warp travel.
Suggestions: -A context menu for splitting stacked items in half, into thirds, quarters, etc (for dividing up mineral hauls or loot to gagn or corp members)

Is that because you want to AFK travel? If so its good job you can't. AFK travel is death on a stick even in 1.0. The amount of people that have complained in the past of loosing a ship while being AFK is unreal. They deserve all they get.
All AFK activities should be curbed.

Gripe: -Selecting to dock at a station that is further away than your ship can warp should cause the ship to make as many warps as necessary to reach the station. Currently, the ship warps once, then attempts to request docking permission from many AU's away causing me to have to select the station to warp to over and over again. A pain in the butt since I have to drop down the stations list if it's not obvious which station ahead of me is the correct one. -------------------- Newbie for life! |

I'd like to see the number of jumps to each station in the assets window. I'd also like to remove the icons from the assets listed in that window and just have the text there. It takes up lots of space on screen otherwise! -------------

Pinned window (chat) dissapears when docking another window in certain circumstances what I cannot remember. That is the most annoying of all.
Also, the agent mission journal - its a text file, there is no "set destination" for the autopilot to the mission target - thats plain dumbass.

No it's not because I want to AFK travel, I just think it is a pain in the ass to have to make this trip then get dumped in a system and then have to find your station, especially when many of them share the same name.
Sure people get killed AFK traveling but that is their fault and something that this would not make worse, it is a small part of any trip over 7 jumps and people will AFK travel those no matter what since they can be so long.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand.
Suggestion: -MAPPABLE KEYS!! I know that this is hard considering most times you have an active cursor in a text input window but there must be a way of making it so you can set something like holding alt and clicking a ship will do something and holding shift and shift and clicking might do something else. Basically the idea being to have keyboard shortcut methods for things in context menus so you can get to them faster in a pinch.

I thought about putting it in the Idea lab but since it is primarily for people to gripe in I somehow didn't think it belonged there. If someone feels it would be better off there, so be it.

LOL AFK travel isn't dead. During peak hours, I've gone on autopilot through at least 100 systems (many of them low security) while playing GunBound .
Its how I get around in EVE . DO NOT get rid of AFK travel, PLEASE. Traveling is the most boring part of EVE, and if we have to sit through it all, its just going to give more people reasons to quit.

"remove the icons from the assets listed in that window and just have the text there. It takes up lots of space on screen otherwise!"
Try double clicking the station name in assets, you get a much smaller less laggy window.
Gripe:
I'd like to see drones overhauled so that you can select all of them in drone bay and order them to do a task from there attack, mine repeatedly etc. They need a smoother less laggy transition from drone bay to space (remove the very detailed models or at least add an option for this) and have them return and auto dock with your spacecraft when finished. In addition, I think they should kill any incoming missiles when they're not targetting something else rather then only missiles fired from a targeted ship after its destroyed.
Not exactly all UI but would make the UI less laggy when using drones.

Edited by: Hematic on 09/01/2004 23:29:43 1) Cargohold window closes on dock. Should stay open if opened already.
2) Bookmarks, have them retain last sort by. ie by # of jumps.
3) Do something about bookmarks taking minutes to open. Then when you try organize with folders it takes 2.5 - 3.0 minutes PER BM dropped into a folder. Ridiculous.
4) In the scan window why did you remove the planet / moon name from in fron of the station names? I liked it the old way.
5) Ability to auto-pilot to a dock.
6) Ability when setting waypoints to set final destination back to where you are starting from. Currently round trips are not possible to setup in auto-pilot.
7) When jumping to new sector if you hold down alt key while loading it will leave up 'entering space' modal window and you must right-click close before doing anything.
8) GET RID OF MODAL WINDOWS WHEN IN SPACE. Life and death can be decided in seconds when jumping or docking. The fact that they are modal windows means they have to be responded to before you can get back to the application.
9) Fix the bug that makes you CTD when resizing a window that is still loading data.
10) EXPOSE THE AGILITY STAT OF SHIPS!!!. You have made agility a HUGE factor in this game yet there is no way to tell what the stat is for you or on your ship.
Edit: Forgot one 11) Make warp drive active message appear when warping to a bookmark.
That's it for now.

In Beta there was the option for miners [the laser drills] to sample once and to auto repete. This was exstraemly usefull when you want to fill your hold to the top, and not waist a full cycle's worth of ore in the prosess.
Also when you move from a roid[ for what ever reason] you currently Lose all the ore the drills have gathered to that point. I would like to see them deposit that ore into your hold. just as it does when you turn them off.

As someone mention the drone interface is just horrid, the lag you get with launching 8 drones is absurd. If there is combat going on it gets extremely bad and slow. You shouls also be able to group drones in any number and size of groups. So you can easily issue commands to various numbers of drones. The lag in updating a dead drone is bad also. The entire drone interface has to be reworked from scratch.

Any other gripes or suggestions for the interface? I was hoping to take all these ideas and make a concise wishlist for the devs.

Well, before that wasn't an option because eve would crash when minimized for me. That is fixed now and Winamp is an option but I am just making the point that it would be easier and better if we could just do it in-game. Would also save resource overhead.
As for the other gripes and suggestions, I made a thread in the idea lab for it now taking most of these into account as well as others I have seen pop up in the forums. Everyone feel free to read and add anymore to this thread.
