Could you, the luckiest people in the whole EVE universe, post information about T2 BPs here, please? Any stats about blueprints themselves and end product would be priceless!
Thanks.

Why does it always need to have a skill at 5 ? I'd really like to increase another skill every now and then after all the research stuff ...
Science 5 Research 5 Mechanic 5 Engineering 5 Electronics 5 Metallurgy 5 .. bah
not everyone in this game played from the start, and someone starting off later would still have fun to find a role in EVE, but it seems we're just dead meat as we can't keep up with the requirements. Unless we want to fly frigates till the end of our days. I heard they'll bring up new fighting skills (some dude whined about having all combat skills at 4 and want to further specialise in Combat .. why isn't he training his skills to 5 then ?!? )
I hope the developers keep in mind that they try to attract new players to EVE, and those need something to do.

In a way i agree but from another angle, by needing level 5 skills ccp are encoraging players to stay and develop their characters.
If newbies were given the same chances that more experienced players are then theres no benefit in being experienced.
1 thought would be to be able to pay an npc to research your bp's (hugely expensive or very slow)

What is the point of performing Mineral Research on this BP? Reduce pyrite by 12 and Trit by 9? Save a data sheet?

LOL, the build cost of that item is greater than most of the Frigates in the game. I guess we can all expect to be buying some very costly items over the next few months.

Anyone care to post their info on received BPs?
It doesn't matter if it's basic and lame BP. We need to know all of the info.

From the feedback here I have the feeling that only 3-5 people accepted their BPs. Is that all for first tech2 wave? If it is I'm very, very disappointed ______

On the topic of researching the BP...
Anyone has any info on how badly are RAMs affected by production? Are they reapairable?
If not, then researching the BP and lowering RAMs use might be HUGELY beneficial as I can imagine they will cost a chunk of change to buy new ones (hugging 200+ of these babies in my vault ) Your Heavy Neutron Blaster II perfectly strikes Serpentis Chief Sentinel, wrecking for 660.4 damage.

Edited by: Tovin on 09/01/2004 17:05:14 Shy, thanks for re-posting that, I was asleep (like most normal people! :p) and missed the post!
It's not really in the sense of good market sense, to be posting info like the T2 bp requirements, let's be honest. I posted that, so that other, smaller guilds could start preparing their skills now, rather then be completely unprepared when they grab something. (Big thanks to TimeTech Corp for their appreciation. It's nice to be loved!!)
That said.....Hopefully we'll get more people willing to share their skill type/bp type, and the bp requirements, just so we have more info!!
Good luck with T2 everyone! And remember *waves her hand like a Jedi* You NEED a small armor repairer 2!!

I have to disagree with you!
I've been playing 2 months now. As Castor was on the upswing, I started hearing the rumours/warnings about what would be needed for Tech2. I bought a second account (when they made that downloadable offer). As others have stated in this fourum, you need to specialize. I started my second character as a refiner/manufacturer, and after less than a month he's pretty good @ it right now. He soon will be getting into research (to try and get in on the tech 2 lotto ). But the point is, new players can compete. No there not going to be good at everthing right away, but who would want that anyway (can you say boring )

Yes, as Tovin says, i did not have a clue what the T2 requirements would be, and won't be in a position to manufacture/research such products for some time, but it's helpful to know what to expect.
H3ll, it's taken me several weeks just to train science 5 and engineering 5 just to start a research mission!
So T - lotsa T2 love thrown at'cha
Anyone else with a BP willing to share the requirements info? _________________________________

Its kinda tricky to get an extra 2 points on a frigates powergrid, I am a little surprised they made an increase in the Powergrid requirements for something which is a frigate kind of item.
I think thats like a whole 7.5% increase when you look at most frigate powergrids.
You have, after all, paid for it in the cost. Might be fair to re-evaluate some of the fitting requirements like that, just a thought.

Only higher level Agents [rarely] offer blue prints [ it better be rarely, or I see an exployt with agents in the making]. Only Highly skilled, and Battle Ship [BS] owning players can do these missions without dieing.
So useing common logic, only the older Charactures will get Tech 2 & , or Blue Prints.
Now they [ we can't forget the sociopathic players that look for every way to pod folks and not suffer consiquences] will have better ships and weapons to PK those of us newer players just trying to get a cruiser. The game population is not large enough for the starting player to do anything but mine 1.0 -> 0.8 systems for the 1st few months. Because the players that took over 0.0 space on the 1st few days of release [when pirates NPCs were wimpy]. Now Own those systems.. A nice present to those that came 1st. All I see is this pattern repeteing.. Now when the second wave of players are starting to get BS's, the older accounts get newer ,and better ships, ect. to keep folks from the deep space were the Best Agents are.

The problem was that everyone could do everything. Everyone could get a bestower to lvl 3 no prob and have a really good indy. Everyone could spend 1-2 weeks and be good at mining and and another 1-2 weeks for refining. People cryed out for specilization and now you have just that.
If you build your character for research, you can get your learning skills to 4 in about a week and a couple days, adn then the lvl 1 skills like science, engineering etc will take you 5 days each. So in a month and a half or two you can be a full effective R&D person.
This game is not like other games where you can get your char maxed out in 2-4 months time and be an uber character. As new things come out even the best characters get notched down some.
I have 7.7 million skill pts and I have still spent the last ~month training the correct reserach skills for Tech II.

if someone turns down an BP offer it *should* go back into the pool and get offerred to someone else ad infinitum till someone accepts it .. so there should be no lost bp's . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Not that bad. Shoulda trained those skills to lvl 5 when you first heard about the reqs like 2 months ago. I started then and have pretty much meet them already. Most of those are rank 1 or 2 skills.

This is not true. You need tor ead up on how the BP's are distributed before you post on it.
The only benifet a higher lvl agent has is that they give more points towards your research which in turn gives you a better chance at getting a BP from the lottery. But in the same instance that guy with just 1 research point and has been playing the game 1 day and started his first research agent right away woulc also get that very same BP. It all comes down to the lottery. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

I don't think your trying hard enough.
I'm about 3 weeks into the game and have quite a nice nest egg, 1 of each Caldari cruiser, a Badger MK II, and a few frigates for agent missions. I have the best lvl 3 agent in my corp(in 0.6 space) and she is the sole reason for my wealth. I don't die doing her missions usualy ) and have total noob skills. Hell up till yesterday, I coulden't even fit Med. rails on my crusiers . I honestly think it is too easy to make large sums of money quickly. At the rate I'm going, I could afford a BS in 2 more weeks, thou I couldn't fly it if I wanted to.
As far as getting a Tech II BP... Your right, we can't, at least not in the near future. Allthough if you wanted to, you could start to specialize in R&D and by the time the 'good' Tech II suff arrives you would at least be in the game. Do you really think you should have an equal chance to get Tech II BP's over someone who has more time invested than you?
IMHO its about as fair of a system as you could hope for. It may be too fair...

TO ALL THE COMPLAINTS FROM NOOBS:
Don't you grasp the concept that WE ALSO had to play for months to get where we are? To complain that you can't do something everyone else can yet is turning a Blind Eye to the fact that we were exactly where you are too. Why should it be fair to let new players start off with more than we had?
It would be pointless for us to have no edge over new players....thats one if the main concepts of a MMOG: to be better than others playing the same game with you.
