Is there a formula to know if your ship will survive a DDD (say a lvl 4 DDD at 65-70k dmg) going off with your current resists/shield/armor/hull hp?
I'm not really familiar with how damage is reduced once it checks your shields and then moves on to armor and then hull damage.

Add plates/extenders. Add resist moduales. Theorectically its not 'that' difficult though in reality your setup will become weak to other things.

Example. If youre fighting the amarr one, your gonna take 70k EM damage. If youre in a battleship, add an armor EM hardener (60 -> 82%) and 2 1600 plates (for a total of 20k armour at least), and youll live.
Minmatar - tank shield, EXP hardener and extenders
Caldari - tank shield, KIN
Gallente - tank armour, THE
Its all about getting a decent resist and lots of HP on the damage type you will be facing.

2 1600mm rolled tugston plates and a DCU II on an ammar ship will tank any level 4 Doomsday, provided you start out with no shield damage.

Or go for omni dd tank, damage controlII + t2 bulkheads (works only on bss)
