Having just read the 1st 2 pages of responses to the bomber update I have decided to post this... again. I posted this a few weeks back and it got moved to the features and idea thread and didnt get looked at. so here it is again, with a few changes.
Ppl keep whining about SB not getting the covert ops cloak ad as such not being stealthy. My idea, and if its been mentioned before and i missed it sorry for wasting your time, is that Sb's dont show up on the overview. meaning they can warp in and cloak, and unless ppl are watching carefully they may never see them.
now with what ive read about the new bombs, I think this would work very well.
what does everyone els think?
prys this doesnt get moved again

Err, no. By watching you meant listening right? It'll start becoming one guy's duty to always leave sound on during an op then. -----

no i actually ment watching. as in paying enought attention to see the ship warp in rather than just listen for it. and even if it does mean 1 person has to have sound on during battles.. that doesnt make it a good idea to improve the bomber

Not a good idea as it makes them sort of invincible in fleet ops... or do you honestly think someone can and does watch the blips in space with dozens of enemies on the overview?

they wont be invincible in fleet ops. just means people will actually have to pay attention.
doing this actuually makes them stealthy. take the modern day stealth bombers used by the us airforce. they are stealthy, but if you happen to shine a spotlight on them and look up then you can see them THIS SPACE RESERVED |

How is anyone supposed to see an extra-blip in a sea of red and purple, fully zoomed out to reduce lag? In bigger engagements it's just not possible.

well the other option everyone seems to want is giving teh bomber the covert ops cloak. this means that until it wants to be seen it cant be seen. teh whole point of my idea is it gives ppl a chance while not instantly making a cloak on the bomber usless.
and if thats still not good enough then just makeit appear on overview when it fires THIS SPACE RESERVED |

Bombers are fine. They just got bombs which means in groups they can do some serious alpha (provided they are all using the same bomb) also a huge speed buff. Saw a minmatar bomber breaking 6km/s on the test server.
Maybe you should actually try the bombers on the test server before asking for more.

One thing I never understood about cloaking (and this matters to bombers especially) why is the delay AFTER uncloacking rather than after firing?
A bomber flies in cloacked, finds a target, YAR! I got you! *uncloaks*
*jeapordy theme tune as the 10-30 second timer is waited out*
Oh the hostile didn't leave? engage!
Why isnt the delay after a combat is actually engaged? It makes a bomber a much more stealth bomber like ship.
