Edited by: Mistress PewPew on 30/05/2007 05:46:54 Kudos again to Carebear Stare, 10 of us graced their Killboard again today thanks to one of them. Again, a well put together ship, with a skilled pilot. I gotta say, I don't mind dying to these guys, learning alot about what to do, and what not to do, while losing very little isk-wise.
Editted to add: We're definitely committed to fight, dying like the best of them. =)

Here's a sampling of some lessons learned thus far today: (courtesy of carebear stare, next time ) 1) Keep Caracals 25+ Km away from your target. No sense letting them get warp jammed. 2) Webbing drones is a good idea. 3) Condors are squishy. Shield extenders only compound the problem. 4) DPS from 3 new Caracal pilots < Tank on a skilled BC pilot 5) Drones > Black Bird EDIT: 6) Spell check your posts lest your gangmates ream you over them. Looking foward to our next encounter.

"A good warrior losses so he knows how to win next time." This was stated by one of the students during the philosphy class when covering the final PVP philosphy of afterthought.
This is probably our most powerful learning tool as it propels majority of our students into self learners, which is the ultimate objective of SWA PVP practical classes. This by all means complements the other half, defending against EVE's greatest weapon, panic, experince destroys this feeling and getting outclassed and outgunned accelerates this even further.
We still dont want our pilots to throw away their ships uselessly but we aren't here to train cowards either.
I would also like to say that we are still looking for more classroom like instructors for SWA PVP to teach philosphies, aspects, module usage, and tatics.

Well day 4, 3 fcs, 35+ students, 4 operations, lots of fun, raven added to our wall of kills, and it was a solo kill. I say we are getting places in the first week. Students havent scored to many more kills since the start but they are all learning now that certain things need to happen and mostly they are things very hard to teach in the class room. I would say a common hunting ground is getting used to much and we are becomming more of an expected guest so we should be well picking newer places to poke around to prevent the welcome mats for us.
Other than that please stop sending me corp invites, Im not leaving SWA, would the words 'ima bob alt scare some of you away?' sheesh and no we are completely nuetral in politics you can ask the few bob players we tried to kill passing though.

We went to Mara today with a group of around 20 (most dropped off and we ended up with 12 or so in Frigs, Destroyers, and a few Cruisers). Carebear Stare used scanprobes on us and hunted us out a few times, each time we went elsewhere. Later, in Aurohunen we ran around for a while and eventually agreed to a 1 vs SWA gang with a Grave Diggers pilot in a Ferox. He tried to snipe us from 90km and we ended up gang warping him (he joined our gang to find us with our consent) and we quickly took him out. About 15 minutes later we took on a Carebear Stare pilot in a Raven. He smartbombed those who didn't get out of his range while the larger ships provided DPS/EW at range. Unfortunately, we couldn't overcome his very nice tank and we declared him winner. I ran when his drones took me in to about 50% of my shields as I realized it was a futile struggle (5 drones + FoF Cruise Missiles). It was a lot of fun, we learned a lot, and SFShootme has lit up his killboard like a Christmas tree.
Thank you Grave Diggers and Carebear Stare, we had a lot of fun.

Managed to teach two classes today covering gun usage and missile usage, it seems we are with 50 students now and with abtou 10 instructors, we have 4 fleet commanders at least 1 classroom teacher 2 fitting specialists and rest are advisory pilots who have made their better suggestions. The PVP op today was a success new pilots in the group now know to respect the smartbomb a less paid at the price of a hostile ferox and many of our own ships.
We now a kill board so we dont need the help any more.
However we are going to be designing banners for SWA students to use on the fourm, they will have no names nor id to the cahracter just a selection of what they can pick and use for their own. Any banner suggestions/submissions are welcomed.

Congrats guys, great idea and good to see some decent n00b corp action. You do eve proud and are a real asset to the community.
To the whiney myrm pilot, boohoo.
I recently joined darkness inc for a bit of a fun, and although I only managed one night of action it's been much better than mission running.
Keep up the good work, and hope to see you at the other end of a barrel one day :)

SWA Numbers are growing daily new folks and the sort all over, First post updated to reflect a few changes, such as us finding ourselves a killboard which will be kept to instructors only for review purposes, we are still looking for some banners/fourm signatures, I'm willing to pay for them if the price is right. 40+ pilots now 6 teachable classes including 1 which isnt covered by the new player guide the use and fitting for ship roles along with our practicals. Still trying to get a second class room teacher but it should be soon. ========= (picture removed, I'll get something smaller next time)

Edited by: Stellar Vix on 04/06/2007 05:32:40 REPORT State War Academy to Caldari State Navy
SUBJECT SWA 1st WEEK PROGRESS
BODY After a week of operations and allowing members of the School of Applied Knowledge and Science and Trade Industries Corpeations to join. SWA PVP has had a rather successful first week, we seek to improve upon ourselves with new students interested in securing the furture of Caldari Space.
To Celebrate our first week, another fleet operation was made with a prebreif for the new unaquinted pilots and the regular breif, after a time there was a fleet commander shortage, so one of the student pilots who'd been on multiple operations had stepped up to lead the group.
Although there where some issues in the beginning and new pilots slightly confused. The confusion slowly melted away as the new student fleet commander managed to get her classmates organized and proper discliplined.
The operation began with a good start. A target was located in a belt in a Dominix Class Drone Battleship. The fleet attacked with full force the Dominix pilot either paniced or knew the odds where very heavily against him and hastily dropped 43 million isk, surprised and confused the SWA students swarmed over the isk 'donation' and let the pilot free. Fleet Commander respected the wish and did not pursue the target any further, hopefully the pilot learned a valuable lesson of not being underskilled in oversized ships he wasnt ready to fly yet. Local on lookers where rather shocked to see SWA leading organized groups in such manner and dared not engage the group but rather laugh at the dominix pilot's misfourntune.
Not to much longer a Arbitrator Amarr Class Drone Cruiser crossed paths with our scout and engaged, SWA PVP ops moved in to save the scout and defeated the Arbitrator promptly without loss.
After moving though a few more systems we received a distress signal from a DED designated complex of a pilot getting attacked by both inhabants of the DED plex and two other pilots, however the beacon was minutes old, and the pilot was no longer in local, so we investigated and found a Drake Class Missile Battlecruiser, and the Hurricane Class Gunship Battlecruiser inside the plex that might have been the purportraitors of the previous action.
SWA PVP fleet engaged the Drake first as it was probably a higher threat level of the two ships as it can fire while jammed which prevented the Hurricane from interfering with the attack. The Drake under the combined firepower of the entire group the shields where slowly erroding away. Seeing the sheer amount of damage ammased by the group the Hurricane pilot abandonded his wingman and speed away beyond the range of our tacklers and warped off. The drake now disabled and near harmless the pilot could only spew out insults over local as his hull became riddeled with hybrid shots and shredded by rockets until its very destruction.
Later on at the nearing the end of the operation a Fleet Command Ship was zeroed in by our more advanced scouts with the use of probes, however the lack of numbers and unknown strength of the ship and the op promtly ended afterwards with no losses.
Great day for SWA PVP Great week for SWA PVP we hope to have more successful ops in the future and continue to grop in strenght and size.
END OF REPORT ========= (picture removed, I'll get something smaller next time)

Edited by: Acacia Everto on 04/06/2007 05:50:29 Edited by: Acacia Everto on 04/06/2007 05:48:41 The real story:
We went patrolling out in low security, and found a Dominix in a belt near us. We were concerned it was going to drop on top of us an kill us all with crazy awesome Drone skills. Eventually we found that it wasn't even a month old character with Drones IV and Vespa I drones. So we dropped down on top of it, scrammed, webbed, and jammed the Domi and began bombarding it, and to our surprise it broke very very easily. We convoed the guy and asked him for a ransom of 45 mil. We continued bombarding him and gave him a countdown. At about 15% left of his hull he broke at a count of 5 and gave us 43 million "Okokokok ive got 43 mil" more or less. We let him go and broke up the ransom between us and received 3 mil each.
Later on we encountered an Arbitrator. It aggroed one of our scouts and we dropped in on top of it and ganked it. Easy kill. Meanwhile at the same time two of our other scouts checked out a 4/10 Guristas Complex. A Hurricane and a Drake were running the complex and both aggroed the scouts without provocation and they warped out. Once we finished with the Arbitrator we raced over and entered the complex and locked down the Drake. The Hurricane bugged out as soon as we arrived and we destroyed the scrammed, webbed Drake.

Tonight our practical class went out and did some pvping, encountered a few ships including a myrmidon, which we failed to break the armor tank on, however a hostile blackbird was killed in the process of that fight. It seems myrmidons are highly popular in our area of space.
As for those of you wondering no our chat channel isnt SWA PVP or any combination of, we invite to the channel SWA and possibly in the near future STI and SAK members.
I was that myrmidon pilot LOL. When 20 cormies and carcalols warped in on me I nearly shat myself. The lag was horrible, SWA blob was like WHAT HAPPEN!? Luckily, DPS was at at all time low mostly because of their unnamed T1 loot. My sec status got taken out...

OMG these SWA ops sound so fun. Havn't been able to hook up with them yet, despite hearing about this on the forum about a week ago.
Will try to make it for this weekends op.
So far I noticed they have been running up mainly against small gang targets of 1-2 ships.
Hate to think what would happen once they run into a fleet setup to to take them on. Like the 'anti-SWA op' op... lol
