zevex	Posted - 2007.05.29 15:14:00 - [4] I assume that this is for PvE. With that in mind, speed is your primary tank, and your shield is just there for a little buffer. Replace one of the hardeners with a web, and all the SPRÆs should be replaced with 2x gyrostabilizers and a tracking enhancer. Never turn off your AB, and always orbit your targets, youÆll take minimal damage. If you need to slow down to hit your target, you can adjust your velocity without turning off the AB. Ditch the T2 ammo for ratting.

Either way both your tank and damage will be overkill, but you'll finish missions faster with the gyros. You might also consider a speed mod just to go through them quicker. If you try L3s, go back to using the SPRs until you get a feel for the missions. Ratting is much easier on your tank than missions, though it's hard to make recommendations without knowing what security of space you're running in. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. A couple of things to think about: In LowSec, your primary danger is going to be gate camps on the jump-in. Not a huge danger really, but an istab in place of the OD will make you just about immune to them. It's also arguably better for getting out quickly if you're jumped in a belt. A nanofiber would be a compromise between the two, giving you some extra agility and a little more speed (when your AB is on.) If OTOH there tend to be smartbomb camps in your neighborhood, you might be better off fitting a damage control. edit: Oh, and eventually you may want to switch to a MWD, especially if you go out to 0.0. However there's not so much practical reason to do so in LowSec at least until you get your skills up. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. Check your Rifter fit thread and do some work on that first. Or are you Caldari by any chance, I think we should be told.

Or are you Caldari by any chance, I think we should be told. im minmatar and only minmatar. i was always under the impression that shield tanks were better for pve as it allows for dmg mods. i know i have a boat load of trainning to do, im doing learning atm then fitting to 5 then support to 4/5 then AF so im not jumping into this thing half done.

They do have their drawbacks, but if you can fit them without sacrificing tank or a gyro, they give you a small but significant damage boost in almost all situations. (I would agree that the smaller tier guns are vastly underrated much of the time though.) I did just notice you're using Uranium shells, which really have no application in Autocannons. For most rats you'll want to use the ammos that have the highest damage to your rats' lowest resists. Also no need for 2 sheild extenders or a disruptor for PVE, Also people tell you to use a wolf as it does more damage due to its bonuses and extra high slot, Id aggree although you can get a better tank on a jag imo.
