I just reviewed the mineral requirements for tier 3 BS, to try and find the reason why abaddons are approx. 30 mil more expensive than maelstrom.
To my surprise the requirements for building an abaddon, are much higher than the equivalent for a malestrom.
3 million more trit is used.
500k pye
110k more mex
50k more iso
12k more nocx
1500 more mega
On the otherhand malestrom needs 1100 more zyd, but thats hardly balancing.
Can anyone explain why its fair, that amarr should pay much more to get their T3 BS ?

because the backstory to amarr says that their ships should have meters of plates to protect them. More Plate = more materials

The Typhoon is the most expensive Tier 1 BS (I think...). The Maelstrom is the cheapest Tier 3 BS (I think...). Variety is the spice of life... or something.

Well, they WERE balanced the time CCP released those new BS. Even more, if i remember correctly, the Maelstorm was even cheaper to build than the abaddon. Tritanium costs more than in those days and - as we all know - zyd is crashed from 3500 average to 1280 right now.
Now, do you suggest that the building requirements should be changed every time the market drops or increases on one of the base minerals?
So, stop whining, thats the way it is. Perhaps you should mine tritanium so that the prices drop considerately. Since CCP hunts those macrominer down and they change to macroratting the trit prices increased. Bad CCP, eh? ;-)

his issuse has little to do with mineral prices, the battleship cost comparison (between the races) is wholey uneven.

The Amarr Engineering Staff has deemed it was required to use more materials for it's Tier 3 BS.
What is my point? Why should the ships be equal? They have different engineering departments and different facilities. The races are not the same. Their ships are not the same.
