it doesnt show a location etc in the post, so how do we know where it is?

Which post are you refering to?

Take the latest for example, it does give you clues. It mentions that a ship has been lost in the Kashag constelation. Thats where you look. As for when to look, as soon as you see info that can lead you to the destination. ------

Couldn't there be a spooky jingle playing when you enter an event area, mood setting music works for the movies...

In order to find the locations of events in the scope posts you must have reading comprehension, which also needs a firm grasp of english.
When its clearly stated 'Kashag constellation', and you do not understand.... :/

The Missing Ships events appear to be rewarding mostly cash and fame, as they are relatively easy pursuits.
