Posted - 2007.06.01 17:11:00 - [31] can we have TDE back, then? shame your gone, i remember orbiting your dread at 500m in a merlin with 4 nos and two points...then you popped. i thought i was super. i only had 300k SP at the time and was my first fleet battle. most memorable Eve moment by far, and even though us ex-ratel still have a dislike toward SmashKill, without you guys i wouldn't be the pvp enthusiast i am today. my signature is post-modernist in nature. it's cool before cool was cool.

papaPadla Destructive Influence Band of Brothers	Posted - 2007.06.01 17:15:00 - [33] whaaaaaambulance i can't go with a 5 man gang and make fun of the 50 man needed to catch us. also they put in some new ships in game that do some new stuff and the interceptors are fast so i can't play in a stabbed sniper anymore. they did some stuff to towers and to some big ships i know nuthing about but i like to throw that in for good measure along with some paranoid thoughts from goon propaganda. aaa... and there's lag... not that i care since i didnt like the fleet battles anyways but lag is bad mmkay and so gbye cruel world -------------------------------------

Since you were hoping to gather opinions, I'll say as a 4 year vet I agree with most points except warp core stabs: I supported the change, I think when people want to fight they need to commit to fighting. And the low slot that one sacrifices for a WCS is far 'cheaper' than the mid slot the warp disruptor uses. That said, I thought they should have changed WCS back to what they were before: medium slot items that consumed cap. I never thought of what I would do if I had to ss while needing to pee. We joke about it but you are right, its possible to get probed down in less time than it takes to empty one's bladder. ----

They key points is eve went from small gangs sniping close range jamming battles to super fleets or cloaking recons and dictors camping gates/ or sitting afk in home systems ganking people. yes there are still tactics around to do small scale combat but most of the tactics are burn eden style or cloak and camp till you find a fight you can win. Before you could log on fly 5 jumps and find a fight/ now you log on get a gang formed up then take 30+ around to make sure when you get out blobed you have a decent chance.

I agree with many of your comments, especially the POS changes coming. They will only eliminate the small alliances and corps that go into low sec and 0.0. I can't see how we would have any chance to defend a POS under the proposed new rules, I really wish the devs would reconsider them. I also agree that we are getting farther and farther from balance in many areas due to game changes. As you said the randomization of effects especially EW effects has made most of them nonviable. Deep Throat	Posted - 2007.06.02 03:46:00 - [59] well, first of sad to see u quit the game u have been around a long time and your corps guerilla tactics were amongst the best in the game, not to mention the first to effectively put that type of fighting to use i do agree with u on most of your points, except the warp cores, i was glad to see that go but its pretty evident that CCP have been slowly loosing their grip over the last year and sending the game on a very steep downward spiral, culminating in the introduction of the most stupid thing ever put forth in a game such as this, the titan i still however believe it might pull itself up if they really attack the issues plaguing it atm, most notably the titan and the doomsday crap, and secondly bring back the ability to actually do something with a small gang, which was pretty much killed off with the "tanking - hp " patch which for some very weird reason was accompanied by a damage nerf across the board. since that happened i have not seen a gang with less than 15 or 20 in it. and the ganksquads quickly rose from 5-10 to 20-40, which then again requires a response from the other side which will then quickly escalate into what u are describing... endless calls for backups and stalemate .. usually ending in either both sides going to sleep or that the one side takes a chance and gets doomsdayed... but who knows, perhaps CCP will continue to ** it up and i think if that happens the game will rapidly decay even more than it already has, prop ending sooner rather then later i wish u goodluck Emperor and hello to all the bob muppets who posted in this thread protecting and standing up for the **ass game design their friends in CCP have been throwing at us for the last year
