I spent a pretty good amount of time on my character. More time then I spent thinking about my starting attributes.

I put some effort into this one when i first started EVE. I made it look exactly like a hot colleague from my former job, thinking i would get to see a full body (I came from AO, I made a guy there and always cursed at not having rolled a female char there).
To my surprise, our character in EVE is just a freaking portrait.

I sent around 15-20 minutes trying to get it just right. And it looks perfect...if you see a big version. The small one on the forums make him look like crap. I mean, really, in a bigger picture you can even see the slight haze in the eyes that suggests he just took something not quite legal.

I would spend time on it now but when i started i just wanted to try the game out.
I did not think i would stay so i did not make a effort.

I've played the game for 2 years. The first 6 months was spent trying to get the face right until I figured out that the avatar creation wasn't the actual game.

So... you intended your chrarcter to look totally ***? I dunno, not sayin thats a bad thing  If that's what you're into

This is the first character I ever created in Eve. At the time I hadn't realised that the creation process just snapshots your character with whatever head position you left them in, and all the impressive 3Dness of it is never seen again.
Sometimes I wish portraits played a bigger role in eve rather than being relegated to tiny icons on local and corp chat.

I made several Chelones. The first 2 timed out, because my router is crap (that or the settings are messed up.) So this is the third incarnation, rushed through as fast as possible in under 3 minutes. It's good enough. (Hopefully it will be visible on the forums someday...)

I really like how this char turned out...i think she is a bit of a looker...kinda reminds me of Scarlet O'Hara in a weird sorta way.....lol....i even went as far as giving her a body.....lol.....found HERE but all in all.....i like how she looks.

I was very unhappy with my first look, looked very boring, exactly like Tank CEO. So I changed my look to the one I have now, which is a lot better :)

I put a fair bit of effort into my portrait. Well, kinda. At first I went for a generic-serious-caldari look, turned out all right but I wasn't completely happy with it. So I changed a few things...
Even then on my very first day the direction I would take was clear. That of the weird "he's nice but not quite right"-kinda guy, arguably insane. I'm quite happy with my portrait, I think there's a hint of madness in his (my  ) eyes (something others have pointed out as well).
And it has its perks, whenever I'm accused of doing something/being stupid I can just chalk it up to RP. Win!

It took ages to get my picture right - Achura males look so ugly it was really hard.

Never thought I'd play past trial, so about 30seconds on the portrait, same on attributes...
I hated the portrait for 3-4months, now, 9 months in, I quite like it

This was my first char and i wanted to let it look a bit evil but not pirate like, and after creation i mentioned that i got the evil bunny as background which was a sign of pirates :( and i am a miner :) If i could redo my one i would. It looks good imo but it doesn't fit my work or skills.
