The Pointless Gallente Lacks a Point Ltd	Posted - 2007.06.01 16:42:00 - [1] OK, the character portraits in this game are many and varied. Or at least, I would like to think so. Anyway! Some portraits are frankly... crap. I won't go into the details of what I consider a crap portrait for fear of this thread getting locked for flamebait, but I will ask this: Who here actually puts any effort into their portraits, adjusting every available detail until they've reached as close to 'perfection' as the client will allow? Who just accepts the default settings? Who wants to admit to going for the first clichT that crosses their mind? I'd like to think I fall under the former category myself. I put effort into my portrait. Probably didn't turn out as well as expected, but at least I tried. Honest. ----------------------------------------------- "Breaking News! The Pointless hates GIFs!"

That I would change now, but I'm happy with my face so I guess it's just a bad photo of a good lookin' guy. Secondly, I agree with the comment about spending more time getting a good name : P New ship class

I did put some effort into my alts but I am fully aware beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there is no point even debating this. Plus funny > good looking anyways.

I think it was after the rollback? So I payed to change it. And every time I clicked "next" the head angle changed. So I gave up and went with what it spit out.

Not on purpose, though, I was just playing around a bit. I don't usually go along with a fixed image but rather start with one piece that I like (e.g. the hair) and then choose stuff that seems to suit it. Btw: As much as I like the exclamation mark look, I'd like to finally get my face. I've been playing for nearly a month... It should show up anytime now...

Honest. yeah we need more options it feels like when you choose a certain race that they are all an inbred family no more than 1-2 generations directly related thats impossible since even pure races like true amarr span planets im sure with rev 2.0 and full body avatars we will get more options to the face and physical attributes i personally would like a very muscular male as my pod pilot ____ __ ________ _sig below_ the jet cans are made so that people that dont mine can get free ore miners ritually donate the ore to anyone wishing to take some

My name however.. i never planned to play this game beyond the 2 week trial.. that was 3 years ago, and tbh i regret not choosing a better name, esp cuz i end up on top of every local channel whereever i go and in times of war i'm kinda hard to mis me when entering a system no matter if it's crowded or not, there i am. (and no i did NOT plan this to happen and yes there are people with names that would show up above me but i think most are alts or inactives) tbh, this is making me think about the 'removal of local' discussion and how bad/good this would be hehe, but thats getting OT so nm this. I made it look exactly like a hot colleague from my former job, thinking i would get to see a full body (I came from AO, I made a guy there and always cursed at not having rolled a female char there). Vasiliyan Dutch T2 Production	Posted - 2007.06.02 00:58:00 - [44] This is the first character I ever created in Eve. At the time I hadn't realised that the creation process just snapshots your character with whatever head position you left them in, and all the impressive 3Dness of it is never seen again. Sometimes I wish portraits played a bigger role in eve rather than being relegated to tiny icons on local and corp chat.

So this is the third incarnation, rushed through as fast as possible in under 3 minutes. It's good enough. (Hopefully it will be visible on the forums someday...)

At first I went for a generic-serious-caldari look, turned out all right but I wasn't completely happy with it. So I changed a few things... Even then on my very first day the direction I would take was clear. That of the weird "he's nice but not quite right"-kinda guy, arguably insane. I'm quite happy with my portrait, I think there's a hint of madness in his (my ) eyes (something others have pointed out as well). And it has its perks, whenever I'm accused of doing something/being stupid I can just chalk it up to RP. Win! *Mad Hermit - Minding our own business since 2004.*

Didn't really put much effort into it, though. OP: Your portrait looks...bashful. Definitely coy, and bashful. Sort of like it would be batting it's eye lids, if it were animated. --------
Laah T'Sin	Posted - 2007.06.06 11:39:00 - [68] actually i really took ages to make my portrait - the only problem was, when i clicked on "continue" i got disconnected from the server due to a time-out. so i logged back in, created a new portrait (again taking ages), clicked "continue" -> time-out. So then i though "f### this", logged in, clicked "random" a few times and pressed "continue" so i wouldn't get a time-out. as you can see my character looks wonderful lol

Then I made some alts a few years later, and realized I had to be quick about it... I spent a lot of time getting Bhaal's smirk just right, and this character's scowl just so...
