Edited by: Karlemgne on 04/06/2007 03:50:49 Edited by: Karlemgne on 04/06/2007 03:48:41 Again, I have been asked by my corpmates to come to the Crime and Punishment forum and impart our deep felt gratitude to another corp.
Yesterday, a number of pilots in NovaKane and Blackfleet attempted to engage an ADF Typhoon and Sleipner in the Eifer solar system.
Upon entering the system, and offering a fight, we were instantly greeted by smack talking from the ADF pilots. They called us all numerous things, such as "Black Noob Fleet" and invited us to "catch" them if we could.
Accepting that invitation, the Black Fleet/NovaKane gang quickly brought in a Heilos and began to scanprobe. After busting numerous safespots, only to find the ADF ships no longer there, we finally hit pay dirt.
As the gang warped in on the Typhoon in its safe, the Typhoon pilot, who was wisely pre-aligned warped off. A few seconds later, we were shocked to be greeted by the ADF Sleipner warping directly into our waiting arms.
My only thought at the time was that the pilot must have been pre-warned but found himself already in warp.
The result? The minute the first warpscramble point was placed on the ship the ADF pilot ejected leaving his Sleipner behind.
Thus giving us a free command ship. Many thanks to you guys.
Oh, and we frapsed it.

Something similar happened to me. Gang attacked a brutix on the gate against my orders (we were noobs =p), and instead of jumping it ejected =D, I got a free brutix that day...

to this day i still do not understand why so many ppl eject from ships. It's not that i don't appreciate it when ppl do it but they gain nothing. there is more chance of u being podded, u don't get the insurance payout and u have no fun and no chance of taking down at least 1 of them with u.

I have a new tactic on ship ransoms, any nooby looking guy I either ask for a large sum of isk or ask him to eject.
The eject option I say, 'you'll get the insurance isk anyway when I repro your ship, and this way you dont lose your pod'
Some ask 'why would I want to not lose my pod', I reply 'coz you'd have to start eve again from scratch'
I make clear in any ransom that 'we wont shoot you in this system', we then move small groups to surrounding gates to catch them on way out and as part of the deal insist he warps away and leaves system.... (to waiting gank squad)
It's win win win on klepto camps...
tip of the day: read the ransom small print lol

This one isn't a personal Vendetta. Just a funny story. I've had people eject on me before, but never a pirate in a Sleipner who'd rather give up the ship than go down with guns blazing.

They are one and the same. And yes, they are good pirates and pilots, which made two parts of this story almsot unbelievable.
First was the smack talking. I've never really had a problem with them smacking in local before.
Second was the ejection, really before even a single shot was fired.
In their defense though, he would have gone down very quick, but he might have been able to take 1 of us with him. Especially the untanked covert ops who had the point on him.

Its probably happened thousands of times before. However, if we confine the C&P forums to new and unique experiences that have never happened before in the eve-verse, there would only be maybe two posts a year in here.
It was just an interesting happening, that we decided to share.

Actually, no ECM drones were involved last night.
THAT we save for things like Scorpions. It is rather ironic to jam a Scorpion with ECM drones, don't you think?

Not from inexperienced/casual/gloating pirates. Pods warp extremely quickly and some of my corp mates, who've gottn caught with their pants down, have saved their very expensive implants at the cost of loosing some much cheaper fittings + ship.
In this, I'd have fought or hit the "self-destruct" button. Phoenix Logistics Industries |

I can get my pod away baring two phenomina 100% of the time.
The first of these is lag. There have been times where I've lagged during a fight, and go from being in my ship at half armor to a station. Nothing you can do here, but its happened once to me.
The second is being popped over/near a station and getting hung up on the station (not the case here.)
And the third is very difficult to do, but it involves at least 3 large smartbombs, and even then doesn't always work.

Not meant to be a flame. If you scroll up you'll see that we just found it an interesting happening, given the corp he was in.
Believe it or not, Black Fleet has much respect for you guys as a whole, maybe not so much M34N these days, but you guys definately.
