ournals of the Amarri part 1 ôIt beginsö û a look at the free Amarri sub culture
For many years we have seen the changing state of Amarran capsuleer pilots who embrace racial equality and seek their own beliefs from the system of government where they grewup. With the advent of capsuleer technology the empire needed to adapt to all three races advanced aims for the new technology with this in mind many wealthy Amarrians were trained in the use of capsuleer technology and graduated with the help of the Amarrian Navy into the ranks of the golden fleet as more and more capsuleers travelled out of the empire they struggled with the concepts of all three ôlesserö races but some soon adapted to the ideas of free thinking.
The ôculture shockö
The culture shock came for myself and many others for example when spending many long months campaigning in the Pator system and the homeworlds of the republic many times I had to visit the Matari stations and planets and grew a deep respect for Matari tribal culture though seeming primitive at first.
The Matari deeply respected family and training the young the skills of the old, this greatly appealed to myself and many Ammarians compared to the doctrine and nights at the schola pregneum where we would spend several hours in prayer to the emperor and studying of the scriptures and how they applied to the complex society we were all accustomed toà
Below is a passage taken from a letter sent to me of an Amarrian pilot named Helta Zhul who served in Pator at this time
ôDear Brother I find it hard to study my scripture whilst among the heathens and keep faith with my murderous acts, Today I killed a boy by mistake, his father a member of the republic guard spotted me placing an explosive charge aboard the dock control systems, he was off duty so was not armed and teaching his son how the art of sand writing was done on the floor with various marble stones and shells, Upon noticing me he approached me and I was forced to cut him with my blade, his son only I would say 12 in age wept over his fatherÆs corpse as I walked away and to my surprise and with great courage took up his fatherÆs necklace and charged me with a nearby ratchet lever, I was forced to cut the boy as well and his corpse fell on his fatheràI have not been able to read the scriptures of reclaiming since and the words of our teachers are hollow to me this day, I worry that I will not be able to read the scriptures againö

t this time as we spent more and more time looking at the many of the claims made by the reclaiming and the teachers at the schola pregneum and other institutions started to appear as deceit. It was claimed that all Matari were primitive people without the ability to comprehend God and the meaning of the bond between Amarrans and the world they would inherit.
Yet as we spent time among them we learned that the Matari instinctively had a bond with their lands and nature itself but beyond what was known as the primitive animal. They could easily comprehend my beliefs and so much so many nights were spent discussing scriptures although forbidden to pilots if you were not a teacher of the prophets, this did not scare us so deep in enemy territory . A turning point for myself came when a small Matari girl posed me a riddle ôif you have 200 books that claim you are a slaver hound but someone wrote 200 books that claimed you were a wolf which would you believe that of the man who wrote the first books or that of the man who wrote the secondö I replied with a statement of ô I would believe the second little girl for with new teachers comes truth and much wisdom such as the emperors that grow wiser everydayö she replied with a statement of ô Then you assume that the second author never learnt from the first and made the same mistakes, we Matari learn from elders and pass on that learning from father to son and mother to daughter through doing you learn on the other hand by accepting that one viewpoint is correct so you will never evolve because you donÆt study the first to learn how to be better than the firstö I was stunned by such a bold statement during my time as a spy amongst their people.
It is indeed true Amarrian doctrine did state that each task should be completed a particular way, in fact so rigid was the Amarrian way and fleet command that I begin to ponder on how we could improve our own performance in battle.
It was at this time I was analyzing the teachings of the commanders of the VakÆAtioth battle and how rigid the Ammarian battle doctrine was causing a distinct loss in the face of adversity due to Amarran Navy Doctrine and our thoughts of superiority did the little girls riddle make sense in a very strange way.
I was thus ordered a week later to fire on a slave transport that had been captured by a group of pilots from the corporation ôfreelance unincorporatedö comprising 4000 slaves to stop the assets of this ship being freed and to destroy the pilot a ôMr. Maggotö. I found myself unable to comply with this order and instead opened fire with my Armageddon battleship on the nearby cruiser ôVindicationö an Omen class cruiser, destroying it outright this allowed the Transport to escape unscathed and after committing this act I knew my career was over and I would be hung for my transgression. At this moment in time all I had was the thought of the little Matari girl and my Matari slave girl who was actually not really a slave but more so the women I loved. She was of course freed but shortly after this act the crew on my Armageddon battleship set off a self destruct and destroyed it luckily I was able to make one more trip to Amaar and pickup a small impairer class vessel with which I docked and stole another Armageddon battleship using my personal stock of now freed slaves to escape to Matari space to await my death either by the Amarrian corporations or the Matari freedom fighters.
Many other Amarrian pilots experienced similar reasons for abandoning the original culture as it proved too strict to adhere to the teachings in the new race cultures and cities with a vastly different way of life, most cultures especially the Matari and Gallentean cultures seemed to welcome others with open arms though some Amarrians were persecuted for crimes past. However it was at this time that a new sub culture emerged within the ranks of Amarrian capsuleers calling themselves free Amarri they were able to accept others cultures

i am indeed not a bomber the passage about the bombings was from a friend of mine sent on deep assignment by the Amarrian government and paramilitary forces which is kept well hidden form public eyes...
Quote: You have failed the ultimate test as a man of faith who has fallen from grace and embraced the darkness. You have fallen as a True Amarr into true evil and betrayed all your race stands for. You have enjoyed the life of the chosen only to turn your back on the truth of God to side with heathens and terrorists. You are a traitor and be known now KhanJohn lest you forget the gates of paradise have opened for you one time already.. woe to you if you should ever attempt to knock again.
You are a "free" man only in the respect you have freed yourself from the truth and now lay down besides lie and deception. They are your Gods now traitor.
You are right i betrayed my kin, i betrayed them when i killed them and for that i will be forever damned by god but at least i will have a clear conscience that although i may not see the gates of paradise through my words other amarrians may see the truth, i was not converted i changed my mind by a desicion by seeing the truth from all the lies i was told of the matari...they are not so different from us in the core that their spirit equals that of any holy man yes they are tribally instinctive but like our faith is our strength that is their strength and that is why we will lose and we failed to keep them in control...
i am not the only free amarri many exist in the pod pilot community some are not good men some are not bad men but they make their own choices and are not curtailed by lies and deceit my second journal will speak of the lies within the religious sect and more stories from the schola pregneum based on Tash Murkon Prime.
