Quick BoB/MC, recruit all the vet D2 pilots!
It would be nice if they actually went to what was left of those of us in "The North" that continue on but for the most part, I doubt that'll happen.
Wouldn't make too much sense to disband D2 if the pilots really wanted to fight on.

Originally by: Darknesss I find it funny how the small alliances who are hiding behind MC and YouWhat got the nerve to smack, you took an easy ride to claim easy space. Its funny how the ones who did actually beat d2 (youwhat, MC) arent smacking them.
When this war is over you small new northern alliances wont last 5 minutes.
Interestingly enough. I was kind of thinking the same thing. Darknesss.
BTW...been fun fighting you guys since we've been back home. You and your boys are good fighters.

Why would anybody want to back up D2?
Certainly not for their love of D2. If that was the only element to the situation I'd agree with you. It's not that simple though. But if you were an alliance who considers bob a potential threat to your existance or space then it would still have been in your best interest to back up both ASCN and D2. (i'm not saying d2 and ascn were the same. just comparable situations) By backing up ASCN and D2 all bob hostile alliances had the opertunity to confront bob with great numbers while in a situation that was not a direct threat to their own space.
If you've ever been invaded by bob then you know this is preferable to fighting them in your own space. It's hard to argue that goonswarm would not be better off right now if they had backed up d2 in fade, freeing up the north to continue to assault bob in their own space. Same goes for ASCN. If RA/GS/D2/AAA had all chosen to back up ASCN things might have gone a lot differently. That would have been the pinnacle of strength for the anti-bob coalition. Instead everyone decided they were too uber to be seen fighting for ASCN. They decided it was more fun to call them hobbits and talk about how much they suck. The result being the north has been crushed, bob are taking over the south, goonswarm having "unrelated internal issues". The ghost of Cyvok seems to be haunting the north and south atm.
Until the anti-bobbits pull their heads out of their asses and start basing their political/military decisions on what is best for their alliance's future long term there will always be another ASCN/D2/etc. Bob and co will continue to embarrass you individually since you have all proven you can't work together. OFC ppl don't like D2. and ofc you are right that D2 wouldn't have backed them up if the tables were turned. But its not about that.

Why would anybody want to back up D2? Whom did they ever help aside from IRON? The pets they let run up north were just meet shields that D2 never supported. They let alliances like FE, PA NBSI die when FIVE were attacking, they let FA, NORAD, goons in Syndicate die when BoB attacked them, they attacked ASCN while blue to them. Again. Why would anybody want to back up D2?
I couldn't agree more about D2. That's why we are in branch attacking them even though it is indirectly helping Bob who have set us to permanent -10.
Don't really argue with anything you have to say other than you seem to be leaving out the fact that ASCN helped BoB vs. D2 in Pure Blind and most of us in "The North" never forgot that. That is why most of us had little interest in lifting a finger to help ASCN.
Yes...the "smart" thing might have been to help ASCN, but "some things go beyond mere pragmatism" (quoting again a colleague of mine from another thread).
Just about everything else you say is pretty much obvious and well known. To be honest, knowing it is the easy part. Getting it done...that's the hard part.

The problem with this point of view is the constant referals to YouWhat as being a major force provider in the Deklein and Branch campaigns. While they were present in large numbers in Fade, they were not in the majority of forces in the taking of the next two regions. Also bear in mind that the current owners of Branch are hardly new to the claiming and holding of territory against a determined enemy. As has been said elsewhere, time will tell.
Duly noted and I agree to an extent.
I'm sure you'll agree that soem of the yapping we're seeing is a bit unearned, though. That's the main point I wish to make.
YouWhat and Velios' crew weren't really in my mind when I posted.
