Eefrit Eve Financial Services	Posted - 2007.06.05 07:43:00 - [1] This is a preliminary anouncement of a meet in Den Haag on 7 July 2007. Nothing fancy, just a get together to see who the other crazy people are that play Eve. Come to think of it... if you live in The Netherlands chances are you ARE crazy, but we are specifically looking for Eve related crazies. The exact location in Den Haag has not been decided on so put forward suggestions. The time will probably be about 18h00 or 19h00 but depends on general consensus. Please post in here showing interest so that we can gague whether we need a park bench for two or a stadium to fit everyone in. Cheers, Eefrit

Eefrit Eve Financial Services	Posted - 2007.06.15 16:50:00 - [37] Yay! Back in NL! Okay, after a fair bit of feedback the date has been set as 21 July 2007. I will be updating the list on the main page of those confirmed. Would you please post if you are intending on coming as the venue will depend on how many people. On that note, as long as the venue is in Den Haag that is still open for discussion but for the many people travelling in a venue closer to Centraal Station would be preferable. Maybe a place with a terrace that way everyone can sit around and talk. The one back in December was in a place a little too small for a meeting not to mention it was hard to hear each other at times.

Would be good to get some food at some point, but I definitely think we should get some local recommendations for a pub.

Beers aren't terribly expensive as long as you don't take the big places. There's also a bar somewhat off Plein where a lot of students tend to hang out which is quite big and has decent prices for drinks IIRC. It's called De Tropen. I'll try to make it. I live in Delft, so it's close by. Barring big stress at work, I'll be there. Might try to drag some peeps along as well. :) - -

It's in the center of The Hague, fairly close to the Central Station. You can get there by public transport (tram) as well if the small walk of about 15min is too much. Another option is the english pub called "The Fiddler" which is about 100-150m away from it. Or "het plein" (a square near CS with lots of pubs). Reach me ingame if you need more info. ... and yes, my current schedule is empty for the 21st of july. The tram stops at the bonneterie, right accros from the place. Can't be easier then that. Walking is easy as well. Just plot a visual walking tour for the people so they know how to walk and at which building they can see, they have to turn round the corner. Please travel to "Den Haag CS" from whereever you're coming from. Exit the station at ground floor towards the trams. (the exit left of the burger king!) Make your choice: - 1a. trams - 1b. on foot 1a. Fine, you're lazy bastard and you're going by tram. Please find tram 17. Yes, it's confusing... tram 17 moves in both left and right directions. Please use platform F. On the tram you'll find the name "17 Statenkwartier". Please sit in this tram till you get to the stop "Gravenstraat". Our delightfull tram system has been decorated with LCD panels showing the names. So even if you can't understand the computerized ***** pronouncing graven straat. You can just look at the LCD panel and find the correct stop that way. Now get your lazy bum out of the tram! Well, You're faced towards the bonneterie now, please turn 90 degrees to your left and wait till the tram / crowd have moved along (nothing to see here.. move along!). You'll see a very colored somewhat round building. Walk towards that building, but do not enter it! about 35 meters walking, can you manage that?. Please turn 90 degrees to your left. You'll see a knife shop and to the right of that a little passage. Please cross the street enter the passage. Just walking into the passage on the righthand side you'll find a door with stairs to the first floor. Go up the stairs (I know, your untrained legs must be hurting now, but bare with me) At the first floor you'll find the entry into Haagsche Lounge. Welcome to the club now buy me a beer:) 1b. The brave and sporty types of you have decided to go on foot. Well done! You've already exited the station, please move across the street and towards the right. after about 100m you'll find the end of the building block and accross the street is sort of a park / lots of green. Please turn round the corner and keep following the street. Cross the bridge/water there. Keep on walking. You'll see the street will bend to the left for cars, cross the street there and enter the shopping area. Keep on walking straight through. You'll see the square called "Plein". Ok, here we take a slight detour for you tourists so you'll see a bit of The hague as well. Please do not walk straight passed het "Plein". Please cross the it diagonally. You'll see there's old buildings there and you can pass under a passage. Please do so. Continue straight through the "binnenhof" which is where the parlement is located. Have a gaze at the beautifull buildings and exit on the other side. Please take a look on your right, you'll see the pool of water called "Hofvijver". Ok, if you did, you've moved 50m ... please move back and cross the street towards the square on the other side called "Buitenhof". (No, please do not look for signs stating it's name. You'll probably won't find it). We're almost there. Just walk straight on towards the end of the square. You'll pass a mexican restaurant called Popocatepetl. You're on the right track, keep on going straight through till you find a knives shop on your left. Just after that shop you'll find a passage. Enter it. The Haagsche Lounge is in a car free area, so don't attempt to drive there! 2. without GPS Use a online route planner to get yourself to the Torengarage located in the "Torenstraat" in "Den Haag". Park your car and get out of the garage on foot. Straight across you'll see a guitar / music shop. Cross the street and move along the left side towards the church. You can pass the church anyway you like, but I suggest passing the church and take a left there instead of infront of the church. Now keep on walking down that street. You'll pass a casino "Hommerson", some italian food place, crafting shop, clothing shop for XL people,... keep going. Until you reach the knife shop. Just before the knife shop you'll find a passage. Enter it, after about 20-30m you'll find a door to you right which takes you up some stairs to the first floor. So you'll pass from the binnenhof first past the movie theatre then past the Mexican place and keep on walking till you see the knife shop on your left hand side. It's closely located to the big round building in the middle. And the Kettingstraat ain't too much of a nice street to walk on. If you can recreate the map, either guide them through buitenhof or (spuistraat and then venestraat) to avoid closed off streets / passages. I've lived in the center of the hague for about 4 years.
