So me and my wingman are floating around low sec looking for something to kill when we come across a freighter ôNeutral standingö (Corp policy is NBSI) we think great lets do it, but before we get chance it docks at the station as we are Red Evil Overview flashers after all, a positive Carrier is also outside and docks.
We wait around for a min or so deciding what to do and out pops the Freighter ôo Goodieö so the 2 of us think ok we will give it ago but he will prob just re dock, we open fire and with in no time he's into structure and not redocking ôGreat heÆs either AFK or a total idiot Greatö.
What happens next is a Carrier undocks, with + standings, the one before that saw us and docked also and now he begins to engage, we say stand down your a + standing, which he does not do and sends his fighters over instead while also remote repping his freighter, we did de aggress and redock.
(Peoples minds amaze me ôwhy undock when you know we are out there with your freighter who has no standings to, then moan and complain when its getting ownedö Solution, either donÆt undock when there are hostiles to your character \ Alt or PM us and say look can I get my freighter out thanks as IÆm blue to you and heÆs my Alt.)
3 days later about 50 jumps away hunting again we spot another freighter, Neutral we engage but he re docks. About 5 mins later the freighter undocks and gets away using a spit outpoint from the station before we can scramble him.
So about 15 mins later we are sitting on a gate close by taking down a few targets and in jumps 2x blue standing one warps away but the other turns and aggresses ? again we say stand down we are BLUE and his friend also says you are being naughty ***** they are BLUE. Needless to say this one went home in a pod after not standing down and complaining.
Before you say no he wasn't a noob he was a 2003 player, so he should know better and understand the rules or so you would expect him to. His excuse was he was protecting his freighter LOL what you mean the one that got away 15 mins ago.
The moral of my story is, if you donÆt want your Freighter owning either tell the blue standing its yours or don't put it in danger e.g place it in a + standing corp or check the coast is clear, don't blame the other guys for killing it or trying to as its your own dumb a$$ fault.
Corps also should honor the rules you agreed to and deal with the offenders or donÆt expect to not get owned your self, because I certainly wont be with the people that have taken a shot at me LMFAO.

Being a 2003 player is no barrier to being a 'noob' :)
(Noob and Newbie being 2 very different things imo)
One possibility is that they might have had shoddy overview setups with the sec status stuff set to higher priority than the +/- standing stuff, so they never even knew you were blue. They just saw flashy red and went OMG OMG pirates.

Put it this way we spoke in local saying we are blue and got a reply saying I don't care Diieeeeee "or close to it, they new just, didn't care or honor their agreement.

The NAP isn't the problem its people agreeing to it and just breaking it to save their own bacon when it suit's them and still expecting evertone else not to shot them.
There truly is more Honor among Pirates Corps from what I have been seeing of late. YARRRRR As these were all Carebears.

People with blue standings will do up to anything you allow them. So rather than wondering 'why blue is doing this and that?', should wonder 'why we allow that?'
Would reckon there are simple standard producers for this: have your diplomat contact theirs to check if the blue corp will backup the behaviour. That is, either they kick the aggressor, or you revoke the blue standings -> either way you get more targets. (And nullifies the chance for single saboutager to screw over the whole alliance with blue-on-blue incident).

I am a member of the POS alliance, we are + with the goons.
We've been having alot of incidents like this, and we've gotten to the point where we're about to reset standings because we are losing track of who is betraying who, who forgot to have their standing icons on their overview, etc.
Just contact a Goon authority, its the best you can do.

There was no confusion over standings as stated they just wanted to save their alts bacon regardless of the agreement.

Well obviously you speak to your diplomats about it, so they can fix the standings if the other corp is unwilling to explain their actions. And if the diplomat gives you any lip, fire him! Many good alliances and corps have fallen due to lazy and indolent people making standings.

Yeah we did, but my point wasn't that, just that why do people break the standings when they clearly are being stupid by leaving the alt freighter vulnerable? its there own fault then try to blame the + standing corp for attaching the neutral alt which isn't published LOL.

I'll top you...I got attacked and popped by a blue commandship, as he saw me pirating, and thought stopping an evil pirate was more important than keeping alliance standings...
His alliance has now been set to enemy, hope that makes him happy...it sure makes me happy...hope it was worth it...

Guess this just shows,as we have experienced with FREGE...that they fail to grasp the basics of diplomacy at some levels...such as...respecting Allies modus operandi etc. Especially in areas they call home.

Well it comes to the fine balance of diplomacy. And the balance of diplomacy means if someone shoots you drop standings and call in the 8 most respected diplomats in the universe f1 - f8. As if they don't care then why should you. after all its more fun to shoot.

Hi Quad, yeah that's pretty much what happened to us in the 2nd incident (I was with ian at both ocurrences), he seemed to just wanna kill a pirate, althoug I'm not sure HOW he planned to take down 2 command ships in a solo Crow, ROFL - shame really ain't it.
I like the suggestion of more targets of course, and now have the name of the person to contact within the ranks of Goonfleet to report this.
