Its one thing to have the gates shoot at you, but wouldn't the automated defenses want to restrain you until CONCORD/Navy arrived to arrest/destroy/abuse you?

I think we should make it when a pirate blows somebody up all the ISK in their wallet will disappear and their ship will blow up in 1 hour after the criminal act.

Gate sentries should get reduced accuracy to help frigate piracy and noob piracy.
Gate sentries should also become destroyable, although with many hit points. If they are destroyed a concord flotilla will be dispatched and after a certain amount of time will arrive to replace them, firing on any hostiles in the process.

There's lots of ill considered concepts and trolling going up in this thread. 
If you put warp scrams along side sentry guns people would end up baiting carebears and killing them. If you put them in low sec it would become a joke as industrialists and the like couldn't attack non-outlaw pirates at the gate.
In the past sentries have been shot down by snipers so gates can be camped like a 0.0 gate (except no bubbles). All sorts of fun but low sec is still very under populated.
If you don't like non-consentual pvp then go and play on a wow pve server. I hear it's really safe and there are no pirates to take your epic items, or better yet play a single player game on your computer.

How about we remove gate sentries so low sec can be a dangerous place again? (note im a carebear and have been ganked to death lots of times by ebil pirates while trying to pvp in low sec belts)
I remember once, that even entering low sec was something I would only do if forced or promised a lot of ISK from my agent.. Now you just go in and out as you please.

Nah, make it so sentries always shoot the non-outlaws. Rename them from sentry guns to anti-sissy guns.

A slight modification on the ideal. The scramblers only kick in when pirates refuse to negotiate safe passage. Really, piracy should involve gain. This blowing people up for nothing is simply griefing. Unless of course a war is involved, but 9/10 times that someone ganks you, it's a gate camp or ambush in a belt that is not war related.
Yeah, a few sraps drop from the ship. But in most cases wouldn't ransom be far more profitable?
