Hi there everyone, I'm giving away a Guardian-Vexor to the first person who can correctly answer the following question?
What is my girlfriends first name and surname initial ?
For example Jenny K
To answer some of the questions that will probably be posted.
Why am I doing this? Because I'm worth about 200b isk and people need to understand that eve is just a game.
Am I being serious? Yes totally, if you don't believe me, don't bother responding.
How will I know that you won't just lie if someone gets the correct answer? You won't, you will just have to trust me, and seeing as I'm asking for nothing in return does it matter?
Where is the ship? It's in Jita 4-4, I recently purchased it from Violent CEO who can confirm the transfer if needed.
Am I Violent CEO's alt? Nope I purely purchased this ship for a bit of fun here.
What's it worth? About 7 - 10 billion isk currently, hold onto it for a while and the price can only go up.
Can we have a clue? Sure, my girlfriend is English, that's all your getting :)

Heh, it'd be bizzare if I won my old guardian vexor back. Nice idea for a competition, and I agree that people need to see beyond the isk and realise that eve's a game. I used to run treasure hunts for alliance mates and stuff. I'm not quite as rich as you and I do see isk as my objective, but if I had 200 billion of personal isk, I'd be doing the same thing as you are. I was a bit gutted when I had to sell my old Guardian Vexor and I think it's the exact same one you have now, so fingers crossed. :)
I'm assuming we only get one answer attempt? Otherwise someone would just brute force a few hundred answers.

I have a list on my desk of clues, a list of most likely last name initials and am now counting the consonants (sp?) in my answers buddy, I am trying like my life depended on it and all for the possibility of a collection of pixels. Well this is what i ment with keeping it global..for someone from england this could sound more familiar than someone who wouldnt be english... I guess its hard to keep coming up with clues which wouldnt give someone an advantage but this might provide a little edge over non english... i'm lost anyways since searching for traditional english names still gives a ****load of names to choose from within parameters

Well this is what i ment with keeping it global..for someone from england this could sound more familiar than someone who wouldnt be english... The correct answer has been guessed, thanks to everyone who took part I hope you enjoyed this little game !
I'm rather disapointed that it turned into people jumping on the back of good guesses and changing the surname inital but that's my fault for the way I ran the competition.
I will be contacting the winner once the servers are back up and I have checked out the character, if it's a 2 day old alt I will be offering a cash alternative and running another competetion in the future for the ship with different rules.
I will obviously tell you the winner once I have had a chat with them.
I have been really impressed with a couple of peoples attitudes in this whole thing and will be giving 2 x 500m isk prizes away as consolation.

And sorry to gimmemoneyhoney for the little spank. I'm quick on trigger ingame, and I tend to be quick on the trigger on the forum too. Being in Goon, a bit O shoving and pushing is part if everyday life.

Who actually won this? You have to look at this from an outside observer's point of view. It was a great competition but with so many participants, people will expect an answer other than "It's over, somebody won".

Well a shame the comp is over, i had a couple educated guesses left after searching the intarweb for a couple hours looking for traditional english names and ruling the ones out which didn't fit with the clues, hence i came up with my first guess of marissa which was derived from maris or something with in turn is latin for "from the sea" i think..seeing lots jumping on the bandwagon after that is a bit of a bitter pill to swallow but thats the name of the game i guess.. some people are just too lazy to do some thinking of their own (not just refers to my guess but alot of peoples guesses)i just tried to think for my own and come up with other names than those where already posted.
I loved the competition though, really unique and with a very rare prize. Good idea and good execution and i hope you or someone else will do this somewhat more often.
I'm just generally hoping i won the guardian vex but tbh i would even be very satisfied with a 500 mil consolidation prize
Thnx for doing the competition without asking any form of payment minimizing your own costs. something else for a change
btw about the keeping it global, it wasnt really a plea for easier clues since it just made the comp a bit harder for us non english which is even more fun actually. You're right about it being your competition and your rules.

Dear all, I spoke to the winner this morning who has generously accepted a cash sum rather than the ship. So good news for you there will be another competition in the future for the Guardian-Vexor.
The winner was ' Love Godess ' with the correct answer ' Kerry F ' , I'm amazed that no-one else jumped on the Kerry bandwagon sooner as the first Kerry answer was at 18:34 and Kerry F was guessed at 19:12 !
500m will be transfered to characters :-
Jade Kach'tiare & Khan Jogre for their comments and sorry you didn't win guys but thanks for getting so into the competetion. Your isk will be transfered later today.
So to clear up a couple of points,
' Kerry ' is an Irish name but commonly used in England.
As for the fish reference , 'Kerry' (the place) in Ireland is world famous for it's trout, a bit vague I know but I didn't want to make it too easy!

Thanks for the very nice competition; gave me a bit of pondering for idle periods at work :)
Anyway, I feel it ended up being more of random lottery rather than competition of skill. Of course it's up to you how you wish to share your fortunes :)
Personally I was led astray by the consonant clue (Kerry does have three consonants, y is clearly vowel* for that word), and by that a bit obscure fish reference.

Please, when you make us think, think the clues over yourself: I think "Y" is very often a vowel (I'm not a language specialist, if someone is, could you, please, clarify the matter for me?). At least I considered it as one, hence all 5 letter names I left aside.

It seems i missed all the action last night, oh well, congrats to Love Godess and well done to MaVla or whatever his real mains name is for running such an awesome competition, Its been a pretty cool distraction from the usuall stuff i see on eve-o. With the power that i was granted (namely 500 mil for doing some guessing and searching) i hereby grant half my power to Kehmor (meaning 250 mil) for doing the same thing i did in a well constructed manner..
He as one of the few actually dove into the meaning of names and constructed his answers based on searching rather than bandwagoning on top of sensible answers (at least as far as i could tell)
Sure there might be others who did so aswell but i just made a pick
Why i do this? well i'm just staying in the same line as MaVla did, although 500 mil is alot of isk and i could use it quite well, it is after all just a game and i'm just as happy with 250, should get me going for a while i suppose.

I thought I got it when I found out the 'Molly' was some kind of exotic fish, I never realised that you were referring to a place! one private guess per day prehaps? or design it so we have a few guesses a day and anyone following the clues will have sufficient guesses that they won't be stuck in a position whereby they give massive clues to other people.
To be honest what I found shocking was people stole my first name but posted last name initials that weren't even possible given the clues. Maybe insist people post their reasoning?

Yeah for example i guessed Gillian first, I think and then there were loads of Gillians after and other spellings of it, Seriously though gills on a fish was the only thing i could think of, I dont know world famous tuna towns  However my hunch of the last name starting in an F turned out right...just not for me ^_^

Congrats to the winner. BTW, I can guess why they chose a cash prize. you were valuing the Guardian Vexor based on what the guy that sold it to you said it was worth. I'm willing to bet there was a little salesman's embellishment on the value.

Just for the record, how much isk did you give the winner instead of the Guardian-Vexor? I used to own two G-V's back in the day, bought my first for 400mil, my second one for 800mil and sold both for 1.3bil a piece. I'd like to know how much prices have risen since then .
