With regards to the word in question, I'd like to point out to you that except the USA and some small parts of Western Europe (especially the UK), that word is almost never used in a directly offensive/racist manner, but rather colloquially or even descriptively (see below). I mean, do you take offence for being called BLACK ? Quite the opposite, you seem to take pride in stating that. As it might happend, the latin root for black is "nero/negro", so you'd be hard pressed to NOT let it slip by if you're talking to somebody of Spanish, French, Italian or other latin-language heritage. That word means "black" in another language. Just deal with it. Or complain to somebody who MIGHT care. I certainly don't feel for you, not at all. It would be like me being offended by some guy calling me "whitey", "bianco" or something like that. It wasn't considered an offensive word in the '60s in the USA, and I blame black racists (as in, black themselves, and racist against whites) for even generating the "fear" or "repulsion" against an otherwise harmless word. If you ask me, affirmative action political correctness is just reverse racism (i.e. black vs white), simply a payback for perceived past wrongdoings, and just as bad as any other racism type. Stop being oversensitive, tell the guy that says it that it offends you, see what he says. If he smacktalks back and keeps calling YOU that, then you have enough grounds for a petition. You will probably never know what punishment was given, since I dont think (and your not allowed to discuss on forums) any moderation. My question is this: How did this person determine that you were black in real life? If they did not know this detail, then their comment was obviously not ment to be a direct personnal insult to you.

Thank you for clearing up where you live, for half a second, I was actually terrified that someone might have shown Al Sharpton how to log into EVE... That said, if you find it offensive, it is because you want to be offended. Cripes, if there's ever going to be a game out there that conditions you to ignore ignorant behavior to get anything useful done, its this one. There aren't exactly a large number of enlightened individuals playing this game and CCP has openly stated its not their intention to enforce any level of enlightenment upon it. Given the nature of how CCP runs this game, I'm surprised we don't see more of it. There is absolutely no mandate at all for any player in this game to show the slightest respect to any other.
