Good to know I'm not the only one. Had a bad storm here while I was sleeping, power surge and all, I get on my PC, open eve, login, 'Authenticating......................' ::sigh:: I started downloading the client again thinking somehow the power surge screwed up my eve client (and nothing else  )

I agree. CCP should post some sort of bulletin. What the issue is (if known), ETA, etc. This time it seems that it was just a quick reboot, but I know, and many others know that sometimes it can take an hour. I mean, we know you're shutting it down when thousands of players get booted between login attempts, and the players inside know because of all the traffic advisories. So, instead of making us go 'durrr, what happened? how long am I locked out of my life? I don't know what to do! what if I can't get back in for an hour?! YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT KIND OF PROFIT/SKILL LOSS THIS IS?!?! AHHH!' I say just give us a nice little bulletin to supress our 'wtf?!' urges. plzzzzzz :)

No, they've stated repeatedly that they're not responsible in that regard when the server craps on itself. That's why they suggest long skill training when a patch is planned.

My skill finished about an hour and a half ago (just when these problems seemed to start happening) and I haven't been able to log in and change it. By now I could have almost 3 level 1 skills trained (as I'm training a bunch of new skills right now). I want that training time back, as I've been sitting here trying to log in for almost an hour and a half now.
However, this isn't a server patch. This is a server shutdown. It rarely affects myself, but I think it should be petitionable to get skill training time back. To many players, there's no warning that the server is about to crash or get rebooted. It just kind of happens. When there's no warning, it's hard to set a long skill.

(for a few minutes)
Now that's a new one. haha. never have I seen the 0 players indicator stay at 0. Usually, between login attempts it jumps a couple hundred at a time. ::sigh... again::
