IMHO The Nazgul should have 3 players from big alliances, 3 players from non aligned large corporations, and 3 players that don't fit either of the above.
But, regardless of their corp/alliance size, they should all have at least 1 year of EVE experience.
Just my thoughts on this revelation.
(Question is, who will hold the ring that controls them all ) |

The more threads that crop up about this the more I realise that this will never work. Ever. Ever. Ever. Ever.
Please don't think about it any more.

It's three for elves (respected personalities), seven for dwarves (fighters), nine for humans (carebears/industrialists/freeform professions). While the Nazgul might have all been humans, I'd say the distribution of council spots should follow a similar spread of the "rings".
So, basicaly:
one or two respected forum who^H^H^H personalities (a'la' Dark Shikari, Chribba, etc), three or four alliance representatives (one from each major meta-alliance), four or five from the general public, not alligned with any alliance (think out of the pirates, roleplayers, mercenaries, industrialists and such). _ New char creation guide | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

Sounds fair, but I think that it will go towards the popular vote, an I pray that none of them have CCP or ISD alts. |

Well hopefully CCP wouldn't be dishonest enough to do that, I doubt they would.
The one problem is that, lets say the community nominates 20 people and CCP "removes" 3 from the list... suddenly we know they have ISD alts or the like, and CCP doesn't want that either.

Any shortlist from the nominations would probably see people being removed for other reasons than that they are a CCP or ISD member. I for one would not want someone with a history of buying isk or receiving warnings for offensive behaviour representing my interests.

Those 3 might also have a bad record for being petitioned, hard to control with out it being a dead give away, agreed.
But CCP could also easily instruct their employees and the ISD members to detract themselves from the vote with a simple "not enough time so I can not allow myself to be nominated" comment. |

its impossible for them to reject them... other than ccp telling THEM that THEY have to announce that they wont be running. Because THEY don't want to do it. ie have a job, school, family. etc...

Not really a huge problem. Presumably, whoever is elected will have to actually agree to take time out of their lives and do this, and presumably some people will not be prepared to do it. Any Dev alts (or similarly embarrassing choices) can just turn it down for personal reasons. --------

Guys, be serious... All 9 have to be nominated and voted for by the player community!
That means 8/9 will be members of BoB and the last one will be either Farjung or Dark Shikari or someone else like that... This works out well for CCP as half of the elected BoB members will also probably be IN CCP, so therefore will not need to fly anywhere!

Are they all going to get a cool ship and ropes too?
I think this whole thing is just going to end up with BoB or BoB friendly members in it or people being paid off by BoB.

That last bit might eliminate a LOT more ppl than you think... Me, for one, Anyone that uses and other acronym for Band of Brothers other than BoB (as this has been deemed trolling by the mods), anyone that mentions... HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED (an no I DONT mean the dude from Harry Potter).
In fact that might remove most of the "regular" posters...
AND in fact, I wouldnt want someone who doesnt know what its like to be on the recieving end of the banstick to speak for ME when I HAVE cause they havent a clue what its like...
Or for that matter I dont want someone that agrees with everything that CCP does and says cause THAT doesnt suit me either
And finally, to those who go "well if you dont trust CCP leave blah blah blah" this: Its the best <<<<<<GAME>>>>>> out there that ive played and havent found anything better yet. Doesnt mean I HAVE to like the company...

There will be a dev blog published by the end of the week with more information about the program later this week. As for the concerns of Developer alts holding seats on the council, to do so would be a conflict of interest. CCP staff will not hold council seats.
