That's opening right up for a "If you have forum warning, no nomination" rule.

Yes, that is absurd. Anyone who has posted on the forums a lot is almost guaranteed to have boatloads of warnings and bans, since they hand them out very loosely. Such a rule would likely rule out a number of people who are important figures in-game also; not just forum hoes.

In game qualifications are important, but some very good, well-trained people (and they will be out there - I know one who plays) would provide better assurance to the customer base and other stakeholders.
edit - trained, experienced people would also have the benefit of helping CCP to develop their CG processes. charge in!...pod out! |

This whole elections thing will be very interesting to watch. Not sure why there should be nominations by the community at all though, it would just boil down to the most well known attention *****s then. I think from what Kieron said earlier auditing skill is not supposed to be required at all; they're not going to be giving any of these people database access or anything.
I do agree that at least one or two of the people should have auditing experience, however. They can help guide the rest of the people involved and give expert advice.

Should be correct.
Quote: Someone said Judeo-Christian tradition.. In Christian tradition, Monday is always the first day of the week. Because on Sunday, the last day of creation, the Lord rested!
Sorry, this is not correct. The last day of creation according to the bible was shabbat, which is our saturday. In the Christian tradition, the resurrection of Jesus was on the first day of the weak, which was sunday. Because of this the "holy day" of the week shifted for Christians from saturday to sunday. But the first day of the week for all religious activities remained sunday. In the last century work was more important than religion in the western tradition and the start of the week was moved to the start of the working-week (monday).
Quote: I don't know the calender of jews, maybe their 1st day is sunday. /me shrugs
It is, but the "holy day" is saturday.

The way things stand until they are clarified, is that reps will be voted in. That means at least one Goon in due to their numbers (if they vote for themselves...)
Any forums &*ores should not get in just because they are good at self promotion.
Hopefully CCP will want a modicum of professionalism and not some either spotty teenager or jobless timewaster...
I hope they have a minimum participation level in voting, because if just 30% vote, then the entire thing should be cancelled. Too many egos as it is who are completely clueless...

Agree with that DS
Whomever is chosen shouldn't need access to the database (if they focused on this then they haven't realised the main problems with CG failures)
The biggest problems come from failure of process, hence why most progressive audit looks at risks surrounding processes (or lack of them) charge in!...pod out! |

We're not electing a government here folks, we're not looking to try and get "proportional representation" or any such nonsense - and even if we could, it wouldn't last long: What if alliance member 1 decides he's ****ed off with his current eve-life and joins alliance 2 instead? what if alliance 3 disbands and goes back to empire? Would the member still be "representative" of the community for which he was selected?
The closest analogy I can think of would be that of Jury Service. It's something we may all end up doing at one point or another, with the names are picked at pseudo-random from the user database and no individual able to do it more than once over a specified period. -- Fix Caldari Fix Insurance |
