I was just wondering who people think is the best pvper in eve at the moment.
I mean you always here Stav and Zap bandied around, but they are almost household names now arent they?
so do we think that pirates and their bovine corps are the best pvpers around or maybe some hunters and their coprs are better? ________________________________________ For the female of the species is more deadly than the male. Rudyard Kipling

I can only go on my own experiences and there are a few people i rate as uber pvp'ers (exluding Reikoku members):
darth solo/shadowthrone (they work seamlessly together taking down pirates without fear).
Jexter/Fist/Deneba/Avirex II (again they work seamlessly as one and have probably the highest kills to deaths ratio in the game)
Spectre256 - Spectre is the best general I have ever worked with bar none. There are very few competant generals in the NVA but Spectre256 is simply awesome.
Zoreal - Taught me everything there was to know about the games electronic warfare. A perfectionist and a true master.
There are many fantastic people I have fought alongside but those are the best of the best. dbp

Depends on your definition of best PvP'er..
I dont believe in the "Ive only been podded once" crew...a good PvP'er in my book is someone that knows when to fight and when to retreat "tactically"...hehe, he/she can organise others into an effective fighting squad..and command respect from within that squad. I dont like the "Ive got 50000000 corpses" squad either...most of em are camped miners or noobs...fleet battles is where its at! command and control...
To the pirates..yes..best PvP'ers..simply cos its what they do day in, day out generally...bounty hunters? I couldnt name you one famous one atm...

In my opinion a good pvp'er is someone that can work in a team just as well as he can work alone. Someone that can fight unfavorable odds and still come out with his life and his ship (and maybe a kill or 2). I would rate myself as a good pvp'er but am by no means the best out there...
I have only come accross one pilot who's abilities I truely respect and thats triniton. kudos buddy (..by buddy I mean mortal enemy....and by kudos I mean up yours! )

imo, tank ceo, koval, tankuk, toulak, jexter, fist, it really depends on what you consider an uber pvper these are the few guy who (in my region) stick around no matter the odds and frequently go out solo. Ive never seen people like Darth Solo out by themselves hunting.

That is because darth solo is not out looking for easy to kill industrials. á

Edited by: darth solo on 13/01/2004 15:25:31 A good pvper can warp into a group of ppl and use tacitics to take out some ship and still get out alive. they use skills and tactics to win, and also know their limits.
For this, i would say xpohoc, toulak, KIAtmx.
Edit= tankceo is a very skilled guy, u may not like him, but he most deff is a very good pvper, and that along with his skill points make him at the top of the chain.
KIAtmx is fearless and has been great to hunt with.
xpohoc is very hard to kill, he knows when to stay and when to go..
but then u get folks like DB preacher, who take on any ship/person, even though she flies a BB, now thats ballsy.
1v1s dont tell much, as usually skills and modules play a bigger part, not so much skill.

i try my best matey, but when u have solo hunting missions, all u do is use loads of Cruise/torps and ammo. its near impossible to destroy a BS 1v1. I have attacked many pirates on my own, but when they dont fire back, just so the can jump without waiting for the aggression timer to time out, what can u do .
as im solely a bounty/pirate hunter, i dont see the point in this, u need numbers to catch ppl:0.
can i add, reptar is a good guy, always polite, hope it all works out for u matey.

I wouldnt rate pirates as the best pvpers, just cause they do it day in and day out. Us bounty hunters pvp a hell of a lot too, does that mean we're automatically better?
You might pvp, but doesnt mean your neccesarily any good at it.
As to the "no famous bounty hunters atm" arnt we forgetting old Darthy boy and Celestial apoc, Id say theyre pretty famous when it comes to hunting.

The newest guy in our corp Vincent Blade is a pretty uber pvper....he aint gotten past the frig stage yet, but is still really good. Also Xpohoc is really good, his ship set up is exceptional and as Darth said he is able to clearly read a situation and know what to do.
If you find the best pvper, he wont be flying a scorp, cause imho that is just a noob bs for pvp.
JarJar scrares the **** outta me, dunno why, never fought against him but.......
Darth Solo is good at huntig people down, but usually has to run away cause pirates can group large numbers quickley to chuck him out.
I like pvp, but am average at it.
Zaraquon Beeblebrox is pretty cool bounty hunter, we have had two nice fights. But she has a bit to learn, but deffinitley has the right attitude.

Yes, just post the well named ppl who camp popualr systems (Not saying that bad, use to do it myself when i pirated) i reckon Sutty had the bst point. You will find there are tiers that rank PVPers. I've been down Curse and TGW and seen some good pilots. Just now i 1v1 from Pyschos named Eefrit. I never heard of him or his corp. fought him 1v1 he was in a Dom, me in a Raven. What stopped the battle? Ammo. He earn't my respect.
You can't have 1 person who 0wnz everyone else. Every ship can setup up to defeat another persons ship. All you can have is people who know what there doing with there ship and mods ;x -------------------------

Moleh, your post ****es me off. Vegeta ended up 50km from the gate for some reason, close to you guys and got warpscrambled..while the rest of our gang was warping close to the gate. Edited by: Marskalkur on 14/01/2004 17:31:26 nobody had a warp scrambler fitted from our mining ops. Vegeta warped in 60km (into our lap) from the gate while the rest of you guys warped righ to the gate. we killed him in mater of seconds and two of our BS's in the group were fitted with miners and only their for show.
vegeta whined in local like a little child calling us newbies. I normally don't post here but since you said he was warped scrambled I thought I clear that up.
Edited: Oh and TWD, FYI your group came out of warp about 2sec before Vegeta did. I remember getting set up to target one of you guys who were at the gate when Vegeta comes out of warp right infront of my ship, I targeted him and swiched to multifreq crystals. he went "boom" a few second later.
but you're right. there was nothing you could have done to help him, he just landed right in our lap for some reason... I'm guessing he canceld cang warp and warped in 60km from the gate to either play it safe or to get in optimal range for his projectiles.

The reason for me coming out of warp at that spot is because i ditnt have the optional patch that changed the warp in distances, i warped in at the same range as the others in the gang. About me being warp scrambled im not sure i was but it ditnt really matter, the ship ditnt last long with 8 people firing at it.
Pvp is so much more than just who has the best loadout on chaos, who has the best guns or biggest ships. You cant ever know who is the best player since you only get to fly on one side. There are alot of good players out there, like somoene said probably around 100 top of the line players, all these are good are not good at the same thing but most specialize in different aspects of pvp. Fleet command, raiding, damage dealing, effective jamming, scanning. Theire all different aspects and you cant master them all at once.

One of the best PvPers, in terms of kills, I've seen is SS Vegito. I don't think he plays anymore though or he's taking a break. He's killed a lot of ships, mostly pirate ships, but not always.
I have to admit that Tank CEO has some skills. I've seen him around a lot.
In terms of entertaiment, I still vote for Stavros. He does smack talk some, but it's entertaining. Anyone who watched Muhammid Ali knows how entertaining smack talk can be, if it's done right. Stavros has his own version of that, imo.

If you find the best pvper, he wont be flying a scorp, cause imho that is just a noob bs for pvp.
If I remember correctly I got you when I was in a Scorp. And I still enjoy pvpin in a scorp do that make me nooob?
Havys not a bad pvp ER (runner :P) Hupas another good one lemmie see limpy you alrights im my book too.
Flying a scorp doesnt make you a noob, but posting that you got some1 when you didnt is
What I mean is a scorp is the easiest ship to be a good pvper in...warp jam, weapon jam and pwn.....Tempest, megathron and apoc require alot of skills along with the raven too. What makes a good pvper is totally dependant on skills, but mosty ship loadout between defence and offence. Which you can easily reach a good medium on a scorp (still jam and have the same tankage as a megathron).I hat ew, cause any noob with a scorp can pwn with it and it doesnt matter what skills or uber load out ya have he'll pwn you. A good pvper has to be versatile with ship loadouts which again is easily reached on a scorp. ReForMatt do you understand what im saying now?

think someones said it already..but it is down to a bit of luck, and knowing mods really. i just met Fist out in 0.0, both in caracels. i was forced to warp out in the first fight, but then returned with a different setup, and he was forced to leave. then he came after me loaded up with torps...well...im sure u can guess the rest! so im nominating Fist as the best pvp player ive ever come across (and the fairest aswell..considering he tried again with the same ship, and didnt just jump into a bs to kill me)

We have some pretty ace PvPers in PIE but it often comes down to scissors, stones and paper with regard to different loadout.
Golan Trevize our fleet admiral can kick some serious arse - I don't think anyone scares him...
Risith - One of our old hands. Master of unusual setups! Singlehandedly took on a pirate scorp and two BB's back in the 'good ol' days in Sarum and made 'em run!
Caya - Fantastic pilot - no fear - remember in the Championships a shorthanded PIE team of just two pilots went up against RUS. Despite the overwhelming advantage Caya helped destroy 2 of the RUS ships and severely damaged a 3rd b4 being overwhelmed.
And finally Isiana - altho has probably not got the skills as is a relatively new character (probably under 2.5/3 mill skill points uses em to full effect - often racking up multiple Minnie kills each day.
Finally I would also say that Hippey and Acwron of Oracle have my respect for their fighting ability and loadouts. I remember one 1,500 hit from Acwron which sure did hurt!
You don't need to be a pirate to be good at PvP

So it kinda looks like you are saying don't use a scorp cause the odds are your gona win? lol
But I also think you are saying that you didn't get got when ya did hmm sounds like that typical short term memory or the denial without proof I believe it was in one of our classic battles in Venal and you where in a dom not the ship I would choose to pvp in.

Edited by: TheHerbster on 15/01/2004 16:34:16 Well I reckon TWD is one tough nut to take down. I saw him take down 2 Apocs on his own before he finally succumbed (spell check?)
Didn't flame afterwards either, which is nice. Don't worry sir!! They couldn't hit an elephant at this ra..... |

Back to my point, I can strap on a load of ecm amd pwn whoever i want...does that make me a good pvper? I dont think so, you might, but I dont. When you figure out how a dom can be a brill pvper then you may realise what im saying to be true

point taken.
I tend to like the scorp because I can go out by myself and feel secure or be in a fleet and be secure. I guess that's the carebear in me
