I just get the splash-screen, then nothing. I tried uninstalling Safari, but it did not remedy the problem -

Edited by: Nexus5k on 12/06/2007 17:46:54 I am having the same problem. Although, I'm not sure if it is related to Safari (it could be).
Last night I installed Safari while I was playing Eve.
Today I click on Eve and it loads up. However, I am unable to see items, book markes, my inventory, and I can't right click anything. I rebooted Eve 3 times and still nothing. When I rebooted Eve the 4th time, I now get the message: "Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged, or corrupt files. Please re-install the game client."
Currently, I am downloading Eve to reinstall it. I will keep you up to date on what happens next.
Edit: I'm currently running Vista if this helps anyone.

Uninstalling/Reinstalling said programs does NOTHING.
The game no longer works and not a word from CCP.

It works for me.
Have you tried to open a petition, the way you talk, it sounds like you have not done this and expect a problem to be known by magic.

Plenty of petitions have already been submitted.
If people can't get past the splash screen, there is no response that CCP could give that would make any difference.
They need to post a comprehensive fix right here, right now.

Hang on a minute:
If safari is causing corruption then Apple are the ones to blame not CCP....
(Not sure though if it is Safari - installed the Safari beta on my XP box and Eve still works fine...) -- Users are like a virus - each causing a thousand tiny crises until the host finally dies. |

Edited by: Andrue on 13/06/2007 10:40:57 <off topic rant against Safari> I installed the Safari beta at work.
Spent ten minutes trying to find out in what way it made my viewing area bigger (failed).
Spent the best part of a minute trying to work out in what way it was faster (waiting for it to load the first time). When it took that long to load the second time I decided Apple were mad.
I also spent five minutes trying to work out how to turn off Apple's equivalent of ClearType. I nearly spent five minutes heaving over a toilet bowl but managed to shut Safari off in time.
I hate ClearType and now it seems that Apple's much-vaunted equivalent is at least as bad and they don't even let me turn it off.
Just who the hell is it that actually likes that crap and why do the developers ignore the fact that a sizeable minority of people don't like it. Worse still for quite a few people like me it is physically nauseating. </off topic rant against Safari> -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Is Internet Explorer not good enough for everyone? Why people put on crap bug-ridden software is beyond me - ITunes, Quicktime, now Safari. Seeing the common theme yet?

I've just installed Safari Beta on my laptop - Eve still works. Whatever your problem is I suspect its not related to Safari. :)

If it isn't related then that is one serious coincidence... Eve worked before I installed Safari, then, 5 minutes later, it didn't work anymore. -

If you need to ask that question then you don't deserve an answer. However why bother with Safari when Firefox is around?

Check your system event log... maybe Windows Update kicked in, and installed other updates too?
I have Safari on my XP machine, and my Vista machine, and EVE works fine.
So as others have said.. it's probably nothing to do with Safari.
As another thought - have you tried going back to a system restore point, prior to the installation of Safari?
