I have read many concerns about corporations, and the ôproblemsö with them. The top two being: members stealing and leaving, and CEOÆs taking everything and leaving.
Lets address the members one first. The only way this can happen is if they are give rights to the corp. hanger. Right? That is a very easy fix! And no, I donÆt buy into the idea that they need access because they need the equipment there. Either buy it for them, or they can wait till the person in charge of it is there. And if the player in charge of it steals every thing, then the corp. screwed up by trusting them.
The problem with the CEO taking everything, I just donÆt understand. You trusted him, and He/She/it ripped you off. Happens everyday in the real world, to share holders, and employees alike!
Now the last thing I would like to address is the ôBetter to be a pirate thenàö post. There are some interesting thoughts there. But I have to wonder about something. The game is VERY young, and I have a hard time believing that any true, well thought out pirate corp., should actually not even be known as a pirate corp. at this time. It is the ones that is not known yet, and acts like standard mining, manufacturing, or even mercenary Corps., I would watch out for! The few that have rushed in and decided to get their ôreputationö known, at this stage of the game, are not going to be real threats down the road.
For me it is very simple. It is not about who too trust, it is about trusting no one, and watching MY back! I am sure there are plenty of players that donÆt mind being the worker bee, but most players are in this game for themselves, and as soon as you or your corp. are no longer an asset to them, they are gone, and will take what ever they can! Kind of reminds me of life!
Just my thoughts, and not slamming anyone! I really donÆt like the ôdark sideö type player, but it is what makes EVE so great! You can never count on anything from any one, or some one else!! ;)
People donÆt plan to fail. They fail to plan!
