Now that you've moved the folder for the logs to be under the current user's system profile, will we be able to disable all logging from within EVE?
My system is set up with a high-speed SATA drive devoted to nothing but my OS, three other drives are available for my applications. This allows better performance since programs aren't competing with the OS for disk IO. I even have my swap file on a separate drive from my OS.
EVE creates a lot of unnecessary log files which after constant deletion will cause fragmentation, thus reducing drive performance. With my current configuration, my "C:" drive only needs defragmenting once every three to six months.
Now I realize the log files are small and it's not like the drive will become fragmented overnight *but* in the year I've played EVE, I've never needed any of the log files for anything. I'd really like to be able to disable ALL logs.

After 21844 files in my Gamelogs directory, my installation has decided to stop creating more logs.
Maybe its a FAT32 limitation. However if that is the case, have you tried making the directory inaccessible to EVE? ----- http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online ----- Top wishes: - No daily downtime - Faster training on sisi - Updated data export - Speedup IGB table rendering |

You have far better things to worry about effecting your drive performance than the eve log file.

Unsure how eve handles this, wouldnt it be an option to remove any and all rights (ntfs-rights) from the log directory?
It wouldnt be able to read or write to the log directories.

I'm not in the same boat as you are but I'm running a 14.3 GB partition off of one hard drive (incidentally the one that EVE is installed on on another partition) with less than 2gb of space left that's needed for OS-related stuff such as patches and whatnot. I'd have more but Microshaft already ignores where I tell it to install files and installs them on the C drive even when I tell it to go elsewhere.
However, there seems to be a minor update to the information initially listed in the patch notes on this release that might make CCP a non-participant in the "You told me to go here but I'm still gonna go here" category of file saving/creation:
This can be reset to the pre-Revelations II location by adding: "/end /LUA:OFF" after the "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" target in the target box in your shortcut. After this adjustment, settings and data are saved as they were saved pre-Revelations II. The shortcut should appear aS follows: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF
If I'm reading it correctly then this ought to keep the EVE client from saving files to places it shouldn't be saving them to, or at least keep them going where they've always gone.

You run defrag every 6 month? Your should be happy.
Oh and btw, if your having that good HDD managment, then your prolly owner of high end system. Then, if your not the one who battles overclocking software to get those 0.5% more from your system, you should not bother with game logs. They take less then even that from our system overall performance.

hey hey
you can cut down on alot of game logs by :
1) unchecking save chatlog to file. 2) Remove Combat Messages. 3) uncheck the options in log that you dont read. 4) keep 1000 messages in log.
