I dunno, can't see how CCP are in favor of ISK selling. I was on an alt the other day, and in noob corp chat, I saw someone advertising such a site. I petitioned that, and within a minute, that person was gone. A few minutes later, another one popped up, advertising the same site, so, petition again, and within another 90 seconds, that one was gone. After that, all quiet in corp chat. Free beer for those who mod my sig!
There is only one sig hijack that matters, the orginal and only member of the hijack squad. me. -Eris. ps Black russians are better then beer. I'll see your beer, and raise you a goat kebab -Tirg I'll take that pint and raise you two -Timmeh I bet 2 goats, 1 pint and a bag of slugs -Lordharold I grab it all, cook it/eat and drink it all and say thank you. -Pirlouit I'll call your bluff, and go all in on 3 locks of Hutch's hair. -Incognus I'll see that bet, depending on where the hair came from. -Rauth *pushes the other mods out of the way* Mmmm, bree - Karass Bree & goat kebabs!!! I'm in!! - Yips |

Originally by: CCP Wrangler It's fairly common for people to claim that they're not selling ISK or items, they're selling their time spent getting it and other inventive reasons to have people believe they won't be banned if they buy ISK/items/characters etc.
So to clarify: are they wrong?
A few seconds spent searching ebay reveals plenty of characters for sale, I mean people "selling their service" that is. Many of them don't trouble to hide the name of the character.
Although I don't personally have any moral issues with people selling characters for RL cash - it's not something that I'd want to do myself; I care for Mal far too much - it seems like a relatively trivial amount of effort could make the trade much harder.

So CCP is once again playing the "we don't support RMT" game, but continue to support ISK for cash through their own website... talk about double standards

Revolt: Don't pay them. Don't recommend the game.....
The list goes on. Yes, it is a double standard. They are just being good capitalists and tapping the CA$H stream that ******* morons pay others for isk because they are too ******* lazy to do it themselves.

There's the theoretical ideal Utopian world, and then there's the real world. People with real jobs can do the math on grinding for the equivalent of 6c/hr, or just paying some punk a few bucks to avoid the grind.
What CCP has done is work at making it harder to farm on a professional basis. Once again, I ask what more can you ask for?
Buying in-game resources out of game has happened before, is happening, and will happen in the future. IMO CCP is doing a fantastic job of balancing squashing farmers and taking proactive anti-farming measures with, oh, you know, running the game.

Edited by: DubanFP on 15/06/2007 00:17:56 Personally i think the best thing you can do about isk buyers is hit em' young. Put it in the first paragraph of the newbie training tutorial. Nobody will be able to pull the "but i didn't know" card after that. ____________
