In your opinion, what ships could be considered the best Assault Ship, Heavy Assault Ship and Command Ship to be used for PvP?

in my opinion, assault ship would be ishkur / jaguar heavy assault ship would be vagabond / ishtar command ship, probably the astarte or sleipnir. although the eos is good too

You'll start to notice a pattern for the "best" things, they are generally really fast things and drone ships. Thusly:
Ishkur/Jaguar
Vagabond/Ishtar
Sleipnir/Eos

Red Harvest

assault: Ishkur HAC: Ishtar CS: Eos
The point is that they all are good at armor tanking and have a good number of mid slots free for pvp stuff plus some nasty extra dmg from drones.
Dont get me wrong Sleipnir, Vagabond and Jaguar are also very good PvP ships (great speed and good damage) but the gallente ships are a bit more flexible and hit harder (but need to get in range).

Depends for what kind of PvP. Personnaly, I think Amarr can't be beat in large gangs.

Hmmmm there isnt a best all rounder, so I'll shove in my opinion on different aspects of PvP.
Assualt frigs - Solo - Jaguar/Wolf/Ishkur Small Gang - Wolf/Enyo/Retribution/Harpy Large Gang/Fleet - Wolf/Enyo/Retribution/Harpy
Heavy Assault ships - Solo - Ishtar/Vagabond Small Gang - Vagabond/Deimos/Zealot/Cerberus Large Gang/Fleet - Muninn/Eagle
Command Ships - Solo - Sleipnir/Astarte/Eos Small Gang - Sleipnir/Astarte/Eos/Absolution Large Gang/Fleet - Vulture/Astarte/Absolution/Claymore
There isnt a best in my opinion, each one BECOMES the best through your skill tree and how you fly it.

Drone haters are people who too lazy to set their overview with 'drone only' tab. Heavy drones die even to missle ships fairly fast if owner doesnt scoop em same second. With alot of scooping it lowers DPS completly.
As for topic:
Ishkur/Wolf
Ishtar/Vagabond...tho I think vaga is just expensive tackler.
Eos/Astarte/Nighthawk(tankage). ---

Edited by: Serendipitously on 16/06/2007 09:47:58 The problem with these kind of statements is, that the ship is seldom better than the pilot flying it.
I would recommend finding our style of play first, and then deciding on which CS/HAC to specialize in later.
Eventhough I have the skills to fly a tech II fitted Vagabond, it would probably end disastrous, as I have very little experience flying speed-tanked ships.
In my oppion: experience > ships
Aslong as you fly the ships in their intended role - they rock. If you are interested in solo-pwn mobiles in 1 race choose gallente. If you like cross-training, choose minmatar - then gallente :D.

Dont think they would be able to break each others tank until one of them runs out of cap charges. In the end i would say the absolution would win because at some point the sleipnir has to run out of ammo and the absolution has more cargo for charges.

Usually got a tracking disruptor fitted just to prevent that from happening (and to protect me from some dmg too). I think every drone user should have one. Also i usually have 2-3 webber drones in the bay to give me the chance to get in range for the ship fitted webber. The moment i got the other guy webbed/scrambled and in blaster range its usually the minnie who goes down 1st. You gotta love the dronebays on the gallente ships.
