/agreed...doing the same thing... But the point is we shouldn`t.
Next thing you know we`ll be disabling all graphics and playing as a text adventure
Just wrong! This only ups your framerate. Has nothing to do with the non appearing ships when you warp into a huge battle or with not activating modusles because the server is close to exploding.

when we had the battle with moo in yz-lql some ppl tried to log in while they were in the station. they couldn't even log in.
when activating modules takes up to a minute then something is seriously wrong! -------------------------------------------

Iv been playing a g00d few months but this is pr0bably a nice n00bish c0mment t0 head here, H0w the greasy jeebus do y0u activeate m0duals with n0 ui?
Use the quick buttons.
F1 for first high slott F2 for seccond high slott and so on and so forth
ALT+F1 for first medium slott ALT+F2 for seccond medium slott and so on and so forth
First slott is always starts on the left
You can also press ESC button and choose what key on the keyboard you wish to designate for each slott if you like.
I have no idea what combination is for low slotts as I have not used an active low slott module for a long time
Hope this helps.

1. The UI eats frames like I eat Pizza... in seconds and masses. It needs to be tweaked asap! Older beta UIs weren¦t half as heavy on FPS-rates as the current one.
2. I fail to believe that calculations on a dedicated machine for 80 ships are too much for a server to handle. When a normal PC can handle calculations in RTS games like HW2 with more than 150 ships for 2-4 players without laggging, doing similar calculations for 80 people on a monster-machine like the EvE servercluster or even a single machine from that cluster/node can¦t be all that extreme. IMHO the problem isn¦t the actual calculation... it¦s a combination of clientside FPS lag and packet transfers.
After all, the client still has to send packets. Now if the client is kicked in the arse by heavy FPS lags, sending packets to tell the server what you just did will most likely take longer than it normally would. Additionally, the servercluster seems to have a habit of sending vital parts of information all at once instead of sending it as a kind of steady stream. This is noticeable whenever you load something and the client seems to freeze until the information arrived.
After all however... these are all just assumptions based on personal experience. I¦d really like to hear CCP give a statement on this and I was extremely disappointed that this entire question hasn¦t been raised in the last CSM.
Right now, all I can suggest is switching off your UI and using shortcuts for your modules. It¦s a bit tricky but it works and it¦s pretty much the only thing you can do to work against the EvE-combat-lag-of-doom afaik Talked to some people who bought all new shiny highend rigs to cut down on the lag and it didn¦t help at all. These lags seem to come from client- and serverside limitations only CCP can fix... so let¦s just hope there actually is a way to fix this

Araviel. MS SQL Server is one of the best performing databases out there.
Never thought I would read someone from Oracle saying that!
