The mothership does not need to target the shuttle.
The mothership just sits there with a few smartbombs in it's high slots.
As you are coming into the gate, coming out of warp. The mothership activates its smartbombs and all small ships, and haulers within a 7km radius go POOF!
That's how I have been popped before.

What about smartbombing motherships? Faction smartbombs plus the way (due to their size) I understand MS get a bit of extra range from that. I've never seen it but been told they can cover the gate or near enough like that.
No lock time instagank on anything cruiser or smaller.

UPPERCUT EDIT.
1. Let me guess. You were ganked in a .4 mision in your fully faction-fitted Navy Raven.
2. You were ganked by a MoM in lowsec while in your hauling cruiser.
3. You thought the gate was clear, and then they all uncloaked and ganked your ratting raven.
4. You were moving 300k of strontium in your freighter to another region to resell and you got high-sec ganked.
5. The industry corp you are in got wardecced... You probably lost a ratting raven.
6. You undocked because you thought they were all gone and OH NO! They are on the gate when you warp to it! I guess it was a logon trap!

If you're not going to hide that it's Davlin Lotze then it's still going to get modded.
Piriating in a MS in lowsec is fine, but when certain people do it and act like it's skill or involves risk, I think most of EVE lols at them.

Man, I still remember my first weeks of EVE, and eve-o-self-proclaimed uber-pirates from SILO camping Aurohonen/Mara/Dantumi. You were SO GREAT, you were ganking (with battleships, nothing less) shuttles, 1-week old destroyers doing courier mission, and countless other 'well tanking' ships.
Yeah, we know. Maybe some of them had a T2 BPO in cargohold, so you had to gank them (but had to "relocate" from Lonetrek when CELES came around, hahaha).
Maybe your shuttle had T2 BPO too, eh?

All things considered, I agree with this. Farting in the tub with a martini and lemon marange pie cannot be surpassed! And yes, I do have rubber ducks and battleships in the tub with me. I muse everytime a fart bubble capsizes a battleship!

Actualy... Last night Davlin Lotze in his Wyvern, some other guy in a Thanatos and some guy in a Vagabond showed up and station camped my Myrm for about 5 minutes after I managed to sneak up and kill another Vagabond. It was pretty funny watching all the fighter drones deploy as Docked ;p
This was in Ostingle tho, not Aunenen.
