I hope it only does this the first time. Tired of Waiting? Use Empire Research

It does. Atleast it doesn't work for me. The client won't launch when I try to run it with "/end /LUA:OFF" and when I launch it without them, it fails to find my cache files on my RAMdrive, and insteads makes a default cache and settings folder in the Application Data folder (which I think is bull**** and unnecessary).

The patchnotes reads "...\CCP\EVE\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF" and this is wrong. It should read: "...\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF See the "? They should be at the end of eve.exe, not the end of /LUA:OFF Just move the last " to the end of eve.exe and you should be fine.

On the upside I have to remember to use LUA off option when using Singularity from now on so I don't destroy my Tranquility cache.

Thanks alot. Can't believe I didn't see that. A little glitch by the devs probably.

I whined my heart off to my computer wise friend until he, after much patience, told me in the voice of a teacher telling a child what was wrong. Needless to say, I felt stupid :P What's the most fun is that the error was in the patchnotes themselves. That will be a nice headache for many I think :)

Your App Settings folder is there whether you like it or not. Go open up your app settings folder and look at all the stuff in there. If you want to keep your main drive clean, you need to change where those folders point. EVE will most likely honor that change, but if you haven't changed it, don't complain at CCP for doing what MS tells them to do. Microsoft has been on developers rears for years to change the way they operated and to write data in to the appropriate folders, well now MS is enforcing it with Vista. You better get used to it, because that's the way it's going to be from here on out.

It still doesn't work - I placed the closing quote where it should be, yet the launcher still copied the whole Cache and Capture folders to the respective new locations.

If you have your page file on another partiton of your disk that also holds C you are actually reducing performance. Page file is best placed on system partition or a separate disk.

It's working fine for me with the command line: c:\eve\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF I cleared my cache, etc etc first and it's just recreated everything in the old place as I'd expect.
