Best starter Gallente PVP ships are the Tristan, Incursus, and Ishkur. If you gotta have a cruiser hull go with the Thorax or Vexor. GL

If you are going to have him in a group of people, put him in an Incursus or Tristan for frigates. Both the vexor and thorax are decent cruisers. Vexor is a drone boat, the Thorax is more of a gunship. It would be more helpful to know what kind of skills he has. |

Here is a list of Kessah's Gallente fits. They are probably a little out dated since the Crucible fitting changes, however, they are all still relevant I believe. When you die your ship gets blown to tiny, burning pieces. There's no "corpse run", no "respawn". You're dead. That's it. You just lost everything you were flying, perhaps even your body. Worse still you may have lost the space you controlled or resources you were gathering.-áTake that away and EVE is no longer EVE. TL;DR: Fix war decs. |

T2 ships are expensive to lose and require lots of SP compared to T1, so not really for starters. Also, if you're new to pvp stick to cheap ships as they won't hurt your wallet as much.

This ^^
I hate Incursus! They are hard to kill and kite the crap out of me in my Rifter. Which means they are great fodder for this.
The Vexor is fantastic as well and makes a very good solo boat if you have a ton of skills in drones. I like flying the Vexor for fleet support.

There are three basic routes to go: (i'm skipping the frigates, and i'm not giving the electronic support their own thread).
1. Vexor -> Myrm -> Domi / Ishtar -> Oneiros / Carrier / Proteus (armor, drones, more drones, cap and transfer). 2. Thorax -> Brutix -> Talos / Bomber / Ceptor / Recons etc. (shield, some blaster, more rails, mobility, cloak). 3. Thorax -> Myrm -> Hype -> Proteus / Vindi / Moros (active armor, cap, some drones, blasters, rails at the end).
The first is better if you are in a larger corp or alliance (or do PvE). The second is better if you are in a small-medium corp. The third is better if you are largely solo or paired with few friends.
Very simplistic, but that's the gist of it - in the end you want everything anyway (all races, etc.) . |

a blasterax or vexor is always a good starting ships for a gallente pilot. or if you want to go cheap then incursus or tristan. eventually when you get a bit more experience you will mostly be using battlecruisers and myrm and talos are decent. i just recently saw a nice shield myrm my alliance m8 was using which looks like it would be a fun fast brawler.

with some well timed overheats it can put a hurting on someone.

I originally wanted to do that as well but that fit with all skills at lvl 5 only has 1.5 CPU to spare ... so cant fit the TE's without sacrificing something ... =/
but with the nano's it is quite fast and should help u to get on top of your target so hopefully you wont have to switch to use null that much and just ride your target till he burns. |

My old fit. Never flew it because of the Myrm's reliance on drones for about half it's DPS - which is bad because of the risk of having to get out without being able to scoop them. It's also still too slow, so scram-shield Myrm is actually a better choice here, imo. |

A vexor is so understimated by people like you that its an excellent and cheap ship to bait bigger ships or to kill same sized or smaller ones.

yup the ogre's look good in eft but in game use they will almost always be to slow to catch even armor tanked BC's with a mwd if you are fighting on the move. i only use them after i landed a scram otherwise 5 mediums is usually better .... sad that myrms main weapon drones cant even be used very well in pvp situations cause they are too slow. even with max drone skills they ar kinda a joke =/ and yeh if you need to GTFO and burn out you will easily outrun your heavies and will be forced to abandon them cause they cant catch you to dock. not to mention if u agress people on lowsec gates the gate sentries immediatly **** your ogre's as well taking away alot of your dps.add this to the list of why gallente is bad for pvp.

I've got those, started Minmatar because I wanted "Gallente ships" working better than usual crap. Got owned by the fantastic abilities of Minmatar line up and just amazed by Angel performances in every situation.
I'd just advice that new guy to go straight for Minmatar training and forget about Gallente. Any ship you want to fly with Gallente will use toncrap of cap for guns, for shooting, for armor rep, to fit crap armor reps, to fit active hardeners...everything sucks your cap faster than any experienced lady would do with some Cornetto, and hybrids need almost perfect skills to get something starting to look credible has dps.
Then you have the drones route, this means you get stuck in something using stupid AI, with little to no mods and little without T2 version, you will soon enough find out that drone boats shield fitted with autocanons are the best drone boats out there...
Thus making gallente the worst race to train for any noob.
Go Minmatar, and watch yourself progress with time, plus they're the best race overall for skirmish small/med gangs and whatever role you're asked to they have balanced ships you can have fun with from tackling rifters to nano Pest they're all awesome and slightly above everything else in game except some amarr ships at sub cap. |

While the shield Myrmidon does work very well. Using that set-up with auto-cannons is alot better. In the future if I use that set-up again. I'll be dropping one auto-cannon for a medium neutraliser. Otherwise it's a very nice set-up. However, flying the shield Myrmidon with blasters is fun.
I'm not going to go into what ship is better than another. However I will post what Gallente ships I like to fly.
