Basicley they used 2 dictors to trap our carriers and station and one to cut runaway at pos. 2 carriers get stucked. At the time we had 3-4 bs and few support. We kept warping in and out and managed to nail friendly wrecks in a insane way :D like 30 caps and river of fighters going at you way and u snipe wreck and fighters :D
then fight moved at a pos. We harrased their caps who got overconfident i suppose and sniped fighters and droped occasional bubble while using titan to get backup from 9-9.
Eventually with 30 ish ppl we moved to real attack, dictors were keeping them bubbled while battleships were killing off fighters and drones. I personally seen at least 25 fighters go down and loads of drones and then we went on caps them selfs.
In my opinion they were pretty lucky because if we had like 2 more dictors all 30 of them would die.
Lag was perfectly non existent for me and i reinstalled client after patch and my machine is average.
Later that night a 100+ ish man TCF gang was in area and we went for it with about 50 people. We jumped bridged on them and fight started. Lag was playable, actually way better than u would expect. Awesome fight TCF. A lot of warp in and outs lasted good 30 mins with cap one lasting hour and a half.
I myself in both fights warped in and out like 10 times ending day on 34 % structure :)
Great fights Goon & Ra and TCF.

Im not sure about this.
Was involved in both fights myself.
First when those capitals were killed during day
Second in evening
Same system, both fights at POS with lot of fighters, support ships, BS....
In both fights i didnt have much lag. I have avarage PC (maybe even lesser), and since we know lag was often random to each individual, I think lag issue improved. Maybe it has something to do with data not being driven from cache folder as before (or something like that). Dont know.
But we will see in next cupple of days
You forgot to add -dbp after that, so i'll do it for you.

RA made two typical mistakes (Remember 8th March 2006): it didn't gather fleet to support capitals and it stayed on battlefield instead of jumping out. While they chose to stay on battlefield to save few capitals who got tackled they lost much more of them due to this choice.

So did Maverick and Goose jump out and claim they felt "the need for speed!!!" ?
Glad to hear the lag has reduced...might have to spend more time in 0.0 now.

Originally by: John McCloud More importantly, how is the "need for speed initiative" working out?
Yesterday it was really not lag free, but I'd say I was lagging twice less than the lag I got in theses kind of battle (pre rev 2). The sad thing is I lost my ship due to a peak of lag (freezing for 15 seconds only - I swear I heard "Primary Kweel, K-W-E-E" :) ).
(and for the exemple, the sad thing is I was the penultimate ship to be destroyed on this particular battle. No luck :) ) -----

Originally by: Hey You Actually id say lag improved a lot. still ofc i think i depends on each person but almost none on our side had lag. Awesome fight TCF. A lot of warp in and outs lasted good 30 mins with cap one lasting hour and a half.

To my point of view, there was some lag. Like 50 vs 50 pre rev 2 fleet battle. Something like that.
I don't know if this was an exception but if this kind of lag is to be canon, I'm sure most of us will enjoy next monthes.
One of the most impressive thing about lag is loading the grid. I warp out/in about 3 to 4 times, and I loaded the grid in around 10 seconds. Give me a O and a M then a G.
Nice work CCP. I hope the need for speed project is not finished. -----

Originally by: Isabel Sweet i was only in cap fleet battle killing drones fighters and occasionally shooting RA/GS cap ships. Lag was nonexistant with 120-130 in local and a cap ship fight with zillion of fighters at a pos. I declare this is an improvement but i want to see a 100 vs 100 fleet battle to be sure.
While it is heartening to see some improvement, I experienced something that was just as bad as ever last night in OE-4HB.
I think there was a total of 20-25 people in local. A small number of us jumped into OE-4HB from 42X and engaged a ferox and a nidhoggur on the gate. No sooner did I load, target and activate the 220's on my sleipnir, my screen flickered a bit, lost all graphics apart from the chat channels and the space background. No control of anything. Couldn't activate anything else...couldn't turn it off. Couldn't even select warp. I finally dropped connection after several minutes.
I logged back in normally just in to see my ship popping. Thankfully, I was able to get my pod out.
Looking at the killmail, I think things went awry when more carriers and at least one mothership showed up seconds after the engagement started.
Both sides reported the same problems. I'm not sure if it was related to the appearance of the mothership(s) or not.
Needless to say, a system with only 20-25 people in it and with only half of those engaged on a given grid should not experience these kind of issues. Something still isn't quite right...heheh.

So how did the new controllable POS guns influence this fight?

They did not. we did not had enough people with the skill to afford to stay controlling pos guns.
