Edited by: Futher Bezluden on 22/06/2007 21:57:39 Same damn thing happened.
I was playing eve, logged out, tried logging back in -******* black box. Rebooted... same black box issue.
Completely deleted both eve clients.
Downloaded full client. installed to different partitions.
Started 1 client... black box.
Changed the Shortcut properties, worked like a charm.
"C:\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF" "E:\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF"

I figured out why none of this stuff was working for me.
I'm running windows XP Pro 64
This is what I see in the shortcut properties
"C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\eve.exe"
I tried adding just the ( "/end /LUA:OFF") to the end of that line and came up with this
"C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF"
Worked fine after that. So far.
Good luck

I'm still having a like problem. When I try to log in, it does not open the char selection window. Just loading as usual, and then nothing. If I try logging in again without restarting the client, it says "The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect." I've already tried removing both the My Documents and Local Settings EVE directories as well as running the client with "/end /lua:OFF", to no effect.
...and I've been running without an RP fix for a week...

"C:\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF"
copy this link . you might have to adapt a bit but it worked. In my case :
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF"
This is to be changed in the EVE shortcut in your desktop. Right click on it go to properties, then shortcut and then in target use the Lua stuff

I discovered that running the line:
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF"
from the windows run command works as well (note: include the quotes and the space)
