Edited by: Kalissa on 21/06/2007 15:07:17 Ok here's my problem
Eve was running fine this morning. At DT a new patch came in and my eve works just fine after it. I then went onto singularity and there was a new build there too. I decided to give it a go as it's been a bit since I've been in Sisi, I copied my Eve directory to another HD on my PC and then did the patch.
Since I did it I have been unable to log into Eve on either Sisi or TQ using either directory. I've also tried uninstalling eve and re-installing from a newly downloaded copy.
All that happens is I run Eve, the splash screen comes up. After about 5 seconds the splash screen turns completely black...and thats it. Can't see the login/password screen at all.
Any ideas anyone?

Edited by: Lukas Rox on 21/06/2007 15:15:26 check if you hard drive looks like working - and wait patiently. Took my PC about 2 and a half minutes in that "black box" stage before it copied all data to new "Microsoft Compliant" directiories
if that doesn't help after waiting 10 minutes go to C:\Documents and settings\**user**\Local settings\Application Data\CCP\EvE and clear cache. Make sure you can view hidden folders as two of those are hidden. --- Visit in game for nice items links http://eve.interkam.pl/eveships

Tried leaving it to see what would happen and after 10 mins I kinda decided it wasnt gonna work. So I tried adding "/end /LUA:OFF" at the end of the target line as I thought maybe the moving of the cache was the problem.
Sure enough Eve booted up first time, works without a problem. Don't know why it needs this command now and before it didn't but hell I'll take it. Thanks for your help.

Read the patch notes, your question is explained, infact it was explained in this thread also.

Edited by: DHB WildCat on 21/06/2007 19:43:13 Lord put this in
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF"
When the game is then activated it initial screen appears for about 20 seconds then dissapears. Task manager says the game is still running even with no visible screens. I think this is the "hung up" that is mentioned on patch notes. Ill advise if it works or not.
SWEET! Okay it does work, once the game is opened and the screen dissapears, let it be for 5-10 minutes and it will come up and everything will be good again, Although all overview setting and folders are gone...... Bastards!!!!!

If you have the shortcut on the desktop, right click and go to properties and then put the line:
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "/end /LUA:OFF"
In the target box. I hope it works for you because it doesn't make any difference for me. I still get the black box, the size of the splash screen.

Edited by: Harrison88 on 22/06/2007 10:03:36 Weird, I don't have that folder in My Documents/EVE
Might be because mine's a new install and I've never played the game since my reformat.

I deleted everything in the register related to eve and ccp, and the 2 CCP and EVE folders in Documents and Settings (one is hidden). Then it worked.

Edited by: Sombra Escarlate on 22/06/2007 18:00:17 I put this message in other treats too.
What worked for me is:
Install the last patch again (evepatch32517-33752). It will tell you the game has already the last version. It will go to the page where you can choose to run the game. Run it, it will work.
