You knew this book was useless, you knew it had no purpose, you KNEW it would eventually be removed for, well, being useless, and now you are complaining because you couldn't get a couple of million from an unsuspecting new player for it?

i knew why i took screenshots of my rareskills short before REV II
yes, CCP messed up with their database
in patch info you can read:
new skills are XYZ...
but not skill will be replaced with...
also: mobil factory and mobil refinery skills are gone from list but still count towards max number you have trained, another mistake here
CCP pls give me my 3 skills back
petition on this not answered after 5 days :(
this leads me to the feeling that the database admin who put those changes into the skill database, did not know about those skills at all
easy to check a full list of possibly skills

The GM you spoke with was mistaken. That skill book wasn't removed. It was renamed from Infrastructure Tactical Officer to Starbase Defense Management because the name sounded more like a role than a skill. The logs show that I changed it on May 10th. I'm sorry the requirements changed but we reserve the right to balance the game, especially skills that aren't in use yet.
Other skills that aren't in use such as black market trading and salvage drone operation were hidden from the character sheet but we've received enough petitions that we're going to reveal them again even though they don't do anything. They were originally hidden because we were getting petitions that they don't do anything.

It was "Starbase Tactical Officer", not "Infrastructure Tactical Officer". Any chance that a system could be put in place to help GMs look up a knowledge base of facts before telling a player something that could be wrong? It'd solve a good number of problems with GMs giving incorrect information as players should be able to assume that what a GM tells them is correct.
Without complaining about the excessive anchoring level 5 requirement (which is only used to anchor outposts), do you have any problems with people who trained the skill pre-patch being able to use it without the new requirements? Isn't that inherently unbalanced as it allows someone without the same time invested in a skill to perform as well as someone with that time invested?

Only Senior GM, and you're not meant to use it unless you really think the GM can't handle your situation, for example if it's a new circumstance that has never come up before or if the GM is giving you misleading/incorrect information. There are punishments for bothering a Senior GM unneccecarily, of course.
Generally, a GM is SUPPOSED to give out the correct information. It shouldn't be required to ask a senior gm to be involved and we shouldn't be receiving contradictory information from two different GMs. We are, though, because GMs are stating things as facts without looking them up to doublecheck first.

Thanks hammer, if the GM had said that to begin with then there wouldnt have been any problems.
and to the people saying i just wanted to scalp, thats not true, i wouldnt have sold it even if i knew it was goign to be changed (i would have however trained it with the lower skill requirements)

what a GM says should be correct, and it should be the same answer no matter what GM you ask.
we shouldnt have to post a whine thread to get a DEV response to an issue that a GM should know about. (currently *****ing and whining on the forum is the only way to get a DEV to tell you what is really going on as the GM's dont know and the patch notes are incorrect)
