Edited by: Marc Younbrog on 24/06/2007 02:21:34 UPDATE: ETR pushed back 10 minutes to 2:30 GMT/EVE time The extreme lag, including many log-in problems, has culminated in the shutdown of the server. the current Estimated Time for Reboot is 2:30 (EVE Time, GMT). I have created this thread for those to post the times, locations, and IP adresses for which they first noticed lag occuring. Hopefully this will help the devs isolate the problem (and give us something to do for the next 20 minutes). I started having issues around 1:15, docked in station I noticed a LONG wait times between when i could post chat (as if the chat filter had gone crazy) so I logged out to reboot, but could no longer log on (timeouts for the first 3 tries, then when i tried again 10 minutes later no info came at all; Unknown status). I will update this post as I find new information on the problem. Please post your IP address, estimated time you first had issues(EVE Time/GMT), and your location (Country and County/State) 68.184.40.44, 1:15, Massachusetts USA.

Hey look, it's new content, alot of new stuff is introduced any software (Esp. on this scale) is gonna have issues to kink out. CCP has always tried to fix things fast, and I don't know about the rest of you but I've seen faster fixes and results in this than I have much larger and more popular MMORPGs. Give it some time, CCP will fix it.

Yeah they sure are fixing it fast aren't they. Sometimes I wonder why I pay for this damn game if half the time I can't even get on it.
*edit - got time wrong*

Im a techie and i know that when im under the pump to fix a issue i forget to ring the client because i get involved fixing the issue.
Its a fault that alot of techie people have, and i wish they had someone to keep comunication open and or updates coming.
that being said i wishe somone was on the payroll to ensure that their customers (US) are kept in the loop.

I noticed about the same problems, however I was surounded by NPC's, had drones out and was being shot at (of course I was shooting back) while my armor reparer tried to keep up It took me about 4 minutes just to get my drones back inside while my cap mysteriously recharged to 100%, my armor stayed at 100% and my shields started coming back up, all this with npc's shooting at me and my guns and armor repper active.
I eventually got into warp.... about 10 times (strange warp loop) and made it to the station eventually in one piece when I rebooted my computer because I thought it was a problem on my side. Restarting the game was not possible, it put me in a que.
IP address is 71.112.229.224, time also about 1:15 GMT and I'm in Washington State, USA.
Oh... with login screen it showed that CCP was working on it and they would keep us informed about the developments on the forums. I like it, I want to stay informed about these kind of issues, but it would be nice if this information has its own place in the forum (like a "current news" channel) and the thread had a sticky so I don't have to look for it through hundreds of threads saying how they hate having to spend a couple of hours with their family/homework/dog/etc...

Well despite the fact it says the ETA startup time is 2:45 GMT time, the server started up at 8:30 but as said above we're now looping at 5,4,3,2,1...
It's a shame, I was going to buy a 3 month subscription, guess I better wait a while

*EDIT* You know, if CCP invested in two servers, not only would it cut the load in half, but players could play on another server while potential problems like this are fixed. Well, then again, in MMOs usually you have to pay to switch your character anyways. Probably wouldn't help in times like this.
Even better... They could load ballence on the two clusters with the same world, so that they could fail over in the case of an emergency on the other cluster.

Do we get a pro-rated refund for the time lost, no matter how long it is, or what caused. I don't imagine there is any other business where a company could get out of it's contractual obligations because of the "weather". Especially, "weather" that they at least have some control over.

Please Refrain from flaming CCP in this thread, and post your INFORMATION as stated in the first post. Also refrain from making any 'suggestions'. The EULA States that CCP is not responsible for any and all downtime, whether intentional or not.

They did invest in three servers actually, Tranquility, Singularity and Multiplicity. Okay... two test servers, but do you really think it feasable to move every bit of information in one database to the other the second the main server goes down? The next thing you get is "The ore I've mined in the last five minutes hasn't been copied to the backup-server!" and hundreds of other BS threads like that. Getting a backup server up and running would take too much time away from fixing the problem anyway, not too mention they could copy the problem from the main server to the backup server and waste even more time that way.
