What's everyone's connection speed?
DSL here. 128K upstream 1.0+ MB downstream
Maybe if most people use something better than 56K modem, CCP could increase the minimum requirement and significantly reduce lag for large fleet battles.
Or perhaps game client would have an option for setting connection speed to 128+K that way the server would send more stuff faster to that client thus reducing the lag. Some games do it.

Then they'd have to buy higher bandwidth to/from their servers, which means they'd have to raise the monthly subscription fee for everyone. I'm not sure it's a good idea.

1mbit and a good PC.
If u have 10mbit it wouldnt make much difference, anyways EVE always runs good, also good that the guy with the lowest ping doesnt always win.

Dial-up 44 Kbps, can't wait till I move to a broadband enabled area
Usually everything runs sweetly, frig march was hell at times (5 mins to undock ). Things can get funky and weird at times, like the controls freezing whilst getting attacked by rats, this is not Player induced as there can be no one in the system or just 2 or 3 others when it happens
A quick tip for those experiencing lag, turn gfx settings down, especially in big battles or near those wierd clouds.
I have a 2.1 gig athlon, 512mb ddr 333 ram, FX 5600, Win xp pro, just in case you were curious.

for those reporting 10 or 100 mbit bothways, that is your network card speed to the cable/dsl modem, not your speed that is on the line to the internet, ther is a BIG difference!!!
a T1 line with the local loop will cost about $1000-$1200 a month, and it has 1.5 mb/s both ways, so take a guess how much 10-100 mb/s would cost you... ...fear the evil monkey in your hanger...
