i cant believe how exploration has been ruined by these new sites that spawn round planets and can be found simply by using system scanner at a planet have ruined the deep space probing side of it.
these crap sites show up as unknowns on multis ,which of course is what the expidition plexs show as.so when u scan a system with a multi u find an unknown sig.now u have to fly to a planet and use the system scanner to find any small plexs,chances of finding multiple sites in a system is very high.
so now we know there is unknown sig we have 3 small sites.now we can scan the system with quests on the hope that were not just wasting our time.or we have to spend the next few hrs clring these little sites away.if they actually despawn when u complete them that is(or other people leave structures so it does not despawn).wonderful.
some of these expidition sites take a few hrs to track down as it is.if u choose to just launch quests and hope the unknown sig is an expidition one..where do u call it a day.i have spent 6 hrs on a site before rev 2.does that mean now i have to add an extra 2 or 3 hrs on top of that to deal with these little ones that have no real use except to annoy people. i for one feel like im gonna have to give up exploring for good sites simply do not have the time in which to do it.although i dont have much of a life i like to keep some of it intact.what u propose now for exploration says to me if u want to do this u have to be a sad lonely sod with no life no friends and still not much chance of finding anything..yawn
sry ccp i was really looking forward to all the new exploration content u were bringing in ,all those new sites..bleh u dont have to try to find em ,they interfere with real exploration,they amount to nothing ,loot is crap,bountys crap. fine example of a waste of time.i picked up a unknown in system with multi. i then warped to every planet and used system scanner and found nothing. i deployed quest and spent the next 1 hr 20 mins scanning..and nothing.i launch another multi..guess what.nothing found ..magical really its star wars galaxies and the village all over again:(
oh 1 more thing while im moaning any chance npc tracking disruptors.jamming could be nerfed abit specially since u stick so many of them inmissions and what not.these npc ship look like they have a 95% chance of jamming or disrupting u when u times that by 6 or 7 it equals a big yawn.even with bck up mods in a mission i spent 10 to 15mins perma jammed and thats when i could see the whites of thier eyes.u have to be quick get ya drones on one if u can lock it fast enough before it jams u and wait for ya drones to brk a 'what i can only call a drug induced tank' whilst be pounded by about 10 to 13 bs..its just no fun 
im thirsty now so going for a cup of tea..time spent doing something with a reward..such a nice thing

aye its realy bad thing if u ask me , now every system I scan it have unknown in it :((( baout missions .. lost megathron yest in pirate slaughter lvl4 , cos was jammed 3 TIMES IN A ROW , could not kill jamming frigs cos I was target jammed !!!! and 2-3 groups showed up ****load of BS's and cruisers pwning at u ..no chance of survival
realy dont like it any more

All part of Oveur's plan, sorry to say but get used to it. The aim is to make empire so cr*p you have to go out past the badlands to the magical 0.0.
Mission now have changed and will continue to degrade to be a shadow of what they used to be, npc's cheat all the time, you name it they can do it to the extreme light missiles from cruise ranges, damping which stacks with no penalty, jamming which doesn't miss a cycle.
Exploration seems like the new T2 cartel, many sites are camped, the skill books farmed, the decryptors and the race spec interfaces are a joke 600m for an incognito ship interface.
I feel sorry for anyone who trained up the scanning skills, now you got it built in, I know the scanning skills are useful and many will need them for "other" needs.
The aim seems to be make empire dwellers so fed up we either leave the game, (the turnover is needed as eve has a short life = 9 months avg) or be dirt poor and in an alliance as cannon fodder.
I can see this getting worse when/if they move the belts, so far mining and exploring are 2 separate paths but they might just merge when the belts go, wonder how long before miners complain they find too many exploration content and not enough roids.

Every single encounter will be found with a single spread of any type of quest probes, the onboard scanner has a reasonabe chance of picking up the encounters, but its not 100%.
Yes it sucks that there was a code issue which prevented the introduction of a new type of scanner result to catagorize encounters, but at most its going to take you 1 additional round of quests after you have cleared the encounters, which despawn 10 minutes after the NPCs are killed.

Hi,
You do know those new plexes in 0.0 can contain more loot/mins then your pre rev 2 exploration sites. I rather have the new encounters then real explore sites atm.

Errrmm...there is a workaround-sort of.
Until the signature type response on multispecs is fixed to differentiate Deadspace Unknown from "Encounter" Unknown your best bet is to only drop Quest probes for LADAR, RADAR, and Gravi sites. The Mag sites are bugged with regard to the cans so also not worth searching for until fixed.
Other than that the exploration has not been "ruined" as you put it--it has been enhanced and just needs a bit of bug hunting. Also...6 hours to find a site? You may want to train them skills a wee bit more and use a covops

If the site is on the multispec it's there to be found. The issue with mag sites appears to be with the certain can types not properly responding to the salvager/analyzer. I filed a petition and stuck around along with a wingman who is max skilled in hack/sal/arc in hopes a GM would pop in to verify the issue....no response two days later . Not that we sat there for two days but you get what I mean .
It'll get fixed...but a bit of dev response confirming the bug would be appreciated. And just a little indicator of DS Unknown and "encounter" unknown on multispec probe hits would not go amiss either....probes cost money dammit

I also have filed a bug report about this but so far i haven't read anything about it from Dev side... I would be nice if they would say at least "We know the problem, it will be looked into it in ...X.. days"

Hooray! I petitioned it and got some response about GM's not being able to affect game design issues. I ran a Magno last night, was able to open 4 out of 6 cans. Plus got a skillbook worth a fair whack so its deff still worth it.
I found it in 3 scans by the way and my skills are far from being maxed. I suspect the problem may be with coverage, might be just in a blind spot.

Just a general update on the Mag sites. I got a GM response to my petition stating the issue has been hotfixed. In advance of testing on 2 Mag sites found today I'll say nice one CCP for sorting that bug out .
BTW...investigated a RADAR site this afternoon. Imagine my shock seeing a triple BS 2 cruiser 1 frig spawn land on my head...in losec .
