Ok, i know I'm about to open myself up to a tirade of NUB CAKEZ comments but i feel compelled to ask.
I see all these signatures with there col screenshots and graphics, and i want one. How do i go about it? Is there some kind of site that generates them or is it a ms paint job?

U can hit print screen and get a screen shot. I used photoshop to do my sig. I know some peeps offer a sig designing service.

Goto the out of pod forum and you'll find a list of banner producers and how to go about getting one usually for a modest isk sum

unfortunatly most sigs have pictures of in-game characters... which are all hideous, so IMO most of the sigs are hideous. the good ones are the corp-uniform type sigs, I like the MC and outbreak sigs. They show individuality and conformity.

Photoshop / GIMP / Paintshop / etc. will do the trick. Hit print screen to get a screen capture, then muck around with it until it's pretty.
If you go to Out Of Pod Experience you can offer to buy a sig for isk, if you're that way inclined.

There really easy to do with Photoshop....give it a try....its better to make your own than have someone make it for you;)

Personally I'd go for using Gimp (poster linked it earlier). Nearly as good as Photoshop for most purposes and about $600 cheaper (read totally free).
If you want though Photoshop has a 30-day free trial. Download it, do your thing then toss it.
Gimp is easily more than enough though to make a sig.

Paint.NET is also a good, free (as in free beer) editor. It's not open source, but it has a very sexy interface and it is not abanoned(sp?) so you'll still receive lots of new features and bugfixes for free.
Used it a lot at school to draw sketches. It's very smooth and a lot easier to use than GIMP/GIMPshop.
edit: I used Paint.NET on my sig. But I have never actually used anything else than mspaint before I went to paint.NET so I can't use functions and stuff. Except that I've pasted pedobear into a pic of children but that's something else

ofc you can always "aquire" photoshop which IMO is a much more powerful program to GIMP..

then there's PainterX but to be honest Gimp and other free products should be enough. GL with your sig. making

I made mine in Photoshop....
Design time in Photoshop.. about 30 minutes (takes times to cut stuff out)
Time to reduce final size to forum parameters... another 30 minutes.
Turns out Photoshop CS2 does not compress JPG's quite right. Went to an older version,, problem solved. So if you use CS2 beware,, you CANNOT get the siggy below about 38k!!! No problem in PS 6.

I really like some people's sigs and sometimes I'm a little jealous. but what I don't like is when someone gets a background image, sticks their face on it and a massive picture of a ship, puts a border on it and some half-arsed witty comment on there. Hate it. It's so generic.
Sure, not all "plain" ones are rubbish as they are done well, but something different could be put in there.
My own one is no shining example either, its just something I played around with to try some new techniques. Tried to make something a little abstract.
I like abstract.

See, if you removed your avatar and moved the text where the head was, next to the ship, in the middle, it would look really good. Something simple and open that doesn't distract from the niceness of the picture. The effects placed in the sig are really nice but its just too crowded.

I used Gimp to make mine. I'm not very creative hence the "plain" looking sig but it suits me just fine.

I actualy like your sig dude...i even had a go at animating it in to a gif.....lol.....but as a gif its to big to use as a sig pic.....just over...28.9kb and i think the maximum is 24kb?....anyway this is how it turned out....lol
