please could someone tell me how to set up my pc so i can run 2 monitors and have 2 accounts working at the same time? any help would be much appreciated please

Use windowed mode.

Yes - use windowed mode .. even at the same size as the screen, works fine

doesnt work... at least, it doesnt work with me. i can perfectly run 2 accounts windowed on 1 monitor (overlapping each other). But when i shove one of them to my right, secondary, monitor, my entire system gets hickups (about 1 FPS overall, so eve, mouse, everything :( )
I have the Asus Ati Radeon 9800XT 256MB DDR with the Asus drivers (better performance than the catalysts) and the rest of my system is also top-notch (dont want to brag, sorry) with an Athlon 64 FX-51 and 1GB Regged ram on windows XP prof.
If you get it working, please tell me so perhaps i can get it too :)
dont forget to mention the VGA card you have, resolutions on both screens + eve and operating system

I tried running two monitors on a P4 2Ghz ATI Radeon 8500 128Mb.
I ran EVE in windowed mode no probs on main monitor, but drag it onto 2nd monitor so I could work on the first and it struggled also, and that was one EVE instance. I wonder if it's something to do with the extended desktop support in XP Pro?

Did you make sure each instance of eve is using the correct primary or secondary card in the eve graphics settings?

Is it possible to use my 2 characters at the same time on 2 different machines?
(rather than to run 2 instances of one system)

Most dual monitor video cards only support accelerated 3D graphics on the main video output, which means that whatever 3D graphics rendered on the second monitor must be rendered in software (ie by your CPU instead of your video card). This would explain the massive frame/sec drop when running 2 instances of EVE on two monitors...
zoolkhan: although I haven't tried this, I doubt you'll be able to log in to the same account from several computers at the same time, CCP would have restricted that. Of course, you'll be able to play to different accounts on two different machines...

It is possible to use 2 accounts on 2 monitors using nVidia graphics cards (possibly other depending on the drivers), its a pain to do but the benifit is worth it.
The 2 displays must be set up in streched mode so that your desktop is stretched over the monitors & not setup in dual monitor mode (basically makes windows think you have a 2048x768 monitor where as you have 2x 1024x768). It is not possible to do this with windows dual monitor support because it cannot use DirectX on the 2nd monitor.
In that mode windows is fooled into thinking it is an ultra wide single monitor.
Next, you must configure Eve to run in a window (no other way to do it) at the resolution you want. I run my 2 accounts at 1280x960 on a 1280x1024 TFT.
Drag one window onto one monitor & the other stays where it is.
This setup is best suited to a fast Dual CPU system, that way each client has its own CPU and even a big battle will not slow it down.
