I wrote up a bit of a walkthrough...
I have followed ALL the steps, but I'm still having the problem java.io.IDException: invalid tunnel name
I even reinstalled emsp twice.
I have: Blackberry 8310 Curve OS version 4.2.2.181 emsp downloaded from http://www.dataflowsys.com/test/emsp.jad
Any ideas? Thanks.

Originally by: thelung187 "invalid tunnel name" specifically relates to a lack of APN configuration. If you updated the firmware on your BB, you need to make sure that this information is checked. This is the part of the walkthrough that describes the "wap.voicestream.com" portion. Make *SURE* you have that setup exactly right, once that APN information is configured this error should not appear anymore.
Thanks for the reply.
I didn't update the BB's firmware because is a brand new one. I just bought yesterday
The APN is wap.voicestream.com with username and password empty.

Originally by: thelung187 This is why. wap.voicestream.com is native ONLY to T-mobile users, you need to use the APN server of your provider. Fortunately, since I am an extremely nice guy, I took the liberty of acquiring *ALL* O2 UK APN configuration info:)
O2 GPRS settings (WAP): Note: Different settings for contract and PAYG (Pay as you go)
Homepage: http://wap.o2.co.uk/ APN address (contract): wap.o2.co.uk APN address (PAYG): payandgo.o2.co.uk Gateway (IP) address : 193.113.200.195 Username : o2wap (contract) / payandgo (PAYG) Password: password Session type: Continuous / permanent Authentication: Normal Security: Off Port number: 9201
Hopefully that can steer you in the right direction Post here if it doesn't, I'm curious as to your success.
Indeed you're a nice guy
I have configured:
Quote: APN address (contract): wap.o2.co.uk Username : o2wap (contract) Password: password
don't know if I have and where to configure the other parameters:
Quote: Homepage: http://wap.o2.co.uk/ Gateway (IP) address : 193.113.200.195 Session type: Continuous / permanent Authentication: Normal Security: Off Port number: 9201
The error that I get know is different: net.rim.device.api.io.IOCancelledException: Connection closed

New purchase doesn't always mean that it is up to date. Its like saying I just bought this graphics card and used the drivers that were delivered on the CDROM.
Just because you bought it yesterday doesn't necessarily make the firmware/OS that is installed up to date. I always look for the current drivers/OS before I do anything else with any updatable device.
I agree with you. I have found this website that could be helpful for others too How do I upgrade the OS on my BB?

As I understand it, should read: APN address: wap.o2.co.uk Username: o2wap Password: password
Yes, exactly what I have.

I updated the firmware to the last version, now the error is: java.io.IOException: Connection closed
Originally by: thelung187 Try it with the
server: mobile.o2.co.uk or server: wap.o2.co.uk
and with both the username/password as blank.
Same error with both too.
