This is the very heart of the entire healthcare issue.
People who outsource their interests to anyone or anything deserve exactly what they get.
When did people decide that if they were not under the constant care of a physician , that they just couldn't live, and that constant M.D. care was a right? I am not speaking of the elderly and infirmed, but the vast majority of others that high tail it to the emergency room for every hang-nail, or feed their various addictions through creative ailments and doctor networks.
What other element of living do people have more control over than one's own health? If you sit on your ass all day eating potato chips, smoke a pack a day, drink yourself silly twice a week, don't expect everyone else to pay for your heart condition, and don't b*tch when the well researched negative affects of your behavior metastasize and actually incur real costs. Why should a doctor who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to be educated in his/her field work for free? Why should I pay for your choices?
People get more baby sheep-like daily. Take care of yourself ffs.

Our country is getting softer, and so are the people living in it...
It's a damn shame...
Ding ding. Take care of yourself. Don't do drugs, goto school/study (even public for FFS), and have ambition. That is the basics of what it takes to make it in the United States. If you ask me, its partly attributable to the wussification of the male figure in family as well as a thriving culture of murder, theft, and thuggery promoted in our countrys most popular form of music-- rap. Strong role models are almost non-existant and the answer for people is a nanny-government to protect and coddle them. Ever hear old people say that, "kids these days have no sense of responsibility/work ethic"? Or an employer use the cliche, "good help is hard to find"? Kids just aren't being raised correctly in urban (geographical) America properly and the result is going to end up being bigger gov. and more socialist America-- a weaker America then one of self sufficient individualists.
